well yesterday i was out at the slab (pretty local wheeling spot) and was followign my friend in his jeep, we were crossing a small water crossing and i did this to my diff cover. he dropped into a deep spot which he just called a hole, so i went slightly to the left and come to find out he had just come off the top of a granite out cropping and had not fallen into a hole like he thought. i ran into it and this is my new foudn reason to check every water crossing for myself before driving on. i know toy's don't have a removable diff cover obviously, but is there any thing i can to fix this?? is it possible to beat it out then weld small plate over it then go with some major diff armor?? any help appreciated.

pull the 3rd, beat it out, and weld a nice 1/4" plate patch piece up the ring gear hump. :)

Pull the third and take a good look at the gears. It's hard to tell from the pic if the cover punched in enough to hit the ring gear.

Oh, and there are several companies out there which build diff armor for toyotas (All Pro, FABRICATOR on PBB, etc). Search for PIPE CAP in the toy section, and that'll show you a couple of home made designs as well.
