: Rear FF D60 Disk brake conversion?

I have been searching for bolt on brakets to finish my D60 Disk brake conversion with no sucess.
I have a 78-79 F250 D60 FF rear, and want to use Cadilac Eldorado calipers with the parking brake.

All I keep finding is brakets (weld on and bolt on) that use the 1/2 ton Chevy P-up front calipers. I am just not finding anything unless I have missed them in my searching.

Is anyone building brakets for the Caddy caliper?
Or are the Chevy and Caddy calipers the same? (not likely I would think)

Thx :D

pretty sore the caddy ones will bolt up to the reg brackets ask a vender that makes the ones u want. read up on the caddy calipers general concensus is they arent worth it.

I was wondering if they would work or not.
The Caddy caliper is an 'Option' in most of the kits sold on E-bay and even in our Vendors forums.
I have not found a Vendor here or otherwise that lists just the brakets on thier website ot E-bay add.

Worth it or not, I already have the calipers (i got them with the axle). and with what I am building, having the rear parking brake will be worth it.

What makes them 'not worth it' anyhow? Just curious.

the way the brake caliper is designed sucks is why it isnt worth it.
all the hassles of drum brake adjustment built into a disc caliper.

the brackets are the same

I have brackets that will utilize the 76-78 caddy rear eldorado calipers. You cannot PM however as my star status is scewed at the moment. Anyhow just give us a call. Thanks Shawn

I just welded on the backing plates from a 3/4 ton Chevy D44 axle, and bolted the Cady callipers to them. The Chevy backing plates are full circumference, formed, and approx 3/16' thick, and hell for stout. then I welded tabs for the parking brake cable to the plates, had some cables made, and presto-chango, rear discs with a parking brake. Won't work with most of the home made, or custom brackets, because they are so small there is no place to mount the cable.

For what it's worth, I paid $35 for the backing plates at a local yard.
