wesley_huddleston1 07-10-2007, 06:33 PM Just Bought a new transfer case from Mountain Garage to replace the one I broke this weekend it has the hd V8 planetary and wider chain good for up to 3900 ft/lbs of torque. Hopefully i wont break this one. You can get the 231 with slip yoke eliminator for 850 I put his contact info below. PedalMesh 07-12-2007, 03:00 PM I replaced my stock NP242 with a 208 from a 3/4 ton Ford p/u, ran that for a couple years with no complaints - 32 spline outputs front & rear, and lots of beef:smokin: Had to "massage" the floor a little to make it fit, and trim a 1/4" off the seal housing around the input shaft - bolts up to the AW4 nicely. :( It did hang down a bit low - now running a 231 with the A.A. SYE kit. (had to make room for the Clayton cross member and skid plate) 231 seems to be OK, only running 35's so not a big load on it........but the front output sure is small compaired to the 208 | |
