I am preparing the indise of my cab to be herculined and i was wondering if any one knows the easiest way to get all of the sound proofing tar all ove the floor.

I just left mine on and went right over top. Seems to be holding up fine. Just clean it real good and sand it where you can.

No really though, you can just go over it, just make sure that it is clean as a whistle, it would actually provide a little more dampning affect for sound/heat

whatever you do keep it away from your hootus..

just sand it down a bit

Lay the herculiner down nice and thick over it, and toss some floor mats down there to cover it up once you're done. That's all I did...

i had to pull alot of it out because of oil saturation. Would oven cleaner work or at least soffen it up. I would just leave it but i am a 1/4 of the way done and it is getting harder

I used a hammer and a screwdriver like a chisel, Xylol that you use to prep the floor for the herc will break down the tar pad...Soak a rag in the Xylol and lay it on the spot you wanna wipe up, or pour it into a puddle, let it sit for a minute or two and then go at it, it will wipe right up...Messy as hell but works great...I pulled all the tar off my floor before doing it because as brittle as it is if it were to chip or crack then that area could peel up.
