1.9 IDI with GT1749V 15lb boost and Saab ic.

Got on the dyno today. Things to remember about the results:I was pushing 30 amps to a fan to try to stay cool-probably a few hp there, this isn't corrected and I am at 7400' and the temp was in the 80's with low humidity. I ended up almost double the hp of my old engine, lots more torque too at above 1500 rpm.
Anyway, I'm happy to have almost doubled my hp while getting much better mileage. Oh, the best part is they didn't charge me this time.

Holy smokes (unintentional punnage) look at that torque increase. Now we'll never keep up ;)

So that's on a chassis dyno with no BS correction factors?

Looks quite good, but I think I've seen too many ricer plots to get a perspective on it.
What's the truck weigh?

A very old chassis dyno, no correction. Last time I weighed it, it was 3500 lbs, but I don't remember if that was with the truck cab or soft top. Think it had the winch and sliders. the diesel is 150 lbs lighter. 235-85-16's fitted. Run in 4th gear.

I must have given you the "hot" intercooler-------------

Looks good.

Too bad I have the hot radiator too, but the Taurus fan helps some. Nice to be able to pass the coilers now!:flipoff2:

I've always wanted to dyno the 3.9 before I swap it out, but I just can't stomach the $100 chaining fee before they even start the engine.

Numbers don't lie! :flipoff2:

I probably got a radiator for you also. Any pictures of your current radiator?

Appreciate the thought, but anything bigger will require a lot of reworking everything, which I don't really want to do. It only gets hot on the passes, which I have only gone up on hot days, so I should be fine most of the time. I am running Evans coolant, which doesn't boil until 375 and even then condenses back right away, so I shouldn't have any hot gas pockets in the head. It has been to 250 degrees several times with no ill effects. No bubbles in the rad and same power as always.
