At TTC 2002 after all the competition was done, The Judges and Competitors went back to play in the Mini Rubicon. The Judges wanted to show we are all human lets see...

Jim Piatt Flopped over sideways off the course (1st TTC Winner 10 years ago)

Ned Beacon went vertical off Raptor and flopped it over backwards

And I cracked my T-Case body in half. Was climbing something bigger then I should have, heard a load BANG!!! Looked under and enjoyed floods of gear lube pouring out of a crack in the side of the case.

My gearing is as follows tires are Dirt Grip 36x14.5’s that measure out to 36 ½ inches tall on a 12 inch wheel, 5:89's locked, 4.16 X-fer case 1.25 underdrive in place of the intermediate shaft then first gear. gives me about 111 to 1

A couple of weeks back someone posted if the Sammy T-cases would hold up to the new 6ish to 1 gearing?? Dunno but I cracked mine and there was to rock in sight that I crashed it on to break.

hmmm maybe I damaged it whiled running the Little Sluice on Mem day on the left wall??

Oh well now I am curious if I can break it again and what the limit is they will take??

It happens. I've torn several of them open over the years.

Kerry Wittig was the one talking about a complete new machined tcase box. I don't think he received much interest though.

Well to answer the questions, I have been messing with the billet idea for a while, I am testing one right now in my daily driver to find out the longevity of it. I am starting production and will have have some on the trail in 2-3 weeks. I'm leting the first batch go to friends at cost to see if someone else can find a problem with them. I really cant see how it can break. I am holding off the front cover because It appears that it is not needed. I may build it if there is alot of demand. I'll keep ya posted.

The under drive that we speak of takes the place of the short drive line in between the transmission and the transfer case. There are two sizes available 1.25 & 3 to 1. They are manufactured by Tim Hardy. There is no in and out lever. It is either bolted in or removed. Tim can be contacted at 530-626-9138.
