THis is good stuff, but we're still looking for someone to take on being our collector of information (historical documentation officer). WE need one person to pull all this stuf together, to be our maps and documents guy.

Are you out there?

where is the weather station out there ?

It's a RAWS, a Remote Access Weather Station. They are all over the US, used by the NWS to predict weather and wildland firefighters to predict fire behavior. The info from the weather stations is transmitted by radio and the data is gathered by the NWS and made available on the web.

Here's a link for every RAWS in the US: http://www.raws.dri.edu/

prepare for the worst. 35 degrees, rain, 50 mph wind, blowing dust. I have seen it all in JV. The weatherman can be wrong and you will be miserable. Have fun bring whiskey and goggles.
