: moving an axle forward

Ok the lift springs I got are longer than stock springs. At full arch the axle is where it is stock. But as the springs have settled the axle is moving back pulling the d-shaft out slowly(not all the way). Also when I flex the axle goes back on the side compressing and puts the tire in the bed. Should I just move the axle forward an inch or 2 to correct this problem? If so how hard is it, other than cut and re-weld the front spring mount forward. Will i need to drop down the hanger in the back to below the frame as moving the front forward will lower it? Heres a pic of how it sits now on 31's.

And her is how it sat the day of installing them about a month ago on 33's.

just re-drill the spring perch to move it forward an inch or so, but i think that is about all you can get from that method, it is the easiest way to do it, unless you need the 2 inches

I agree...drill a new hole. Another option is to just get a long travel driveshaft of the correct length. You really probably will want one anyway. My rear axle is by no means centered in the wheel well.

Also, what's up with those shackles? Do you need grapple hooks to get you snagged because the truck is that unstoppable? :D

Ill prolly try drilling them and see if that does it enough. I hope it will. Ive also been toying with the idea of 4-linkin it with some coils from the front of an f-350. should be strong enough to hold it up and still flex good.

Those coil springs wouldn't flex at all in the rear of that.

x2 on thoes 350 fronts in the rear. thoes are made to hold up a big block. ur bed is way to light to make thoes flex. if you redrill the springs use a masonary bit with carbide tip. and also x2 on thoes shackles. decide where u want the spring mounted and cut the rest off. and props for building a nissan

drop a plumb bob in the center or slightly forward in the rear wheelwell. cut off the stock front hangers and move the axle forward till it is centered with your marks, and weld up the new front mounts.
