Funny Rocks at Naches WA. I had just almost rolled it and then broke a rear shaft trying to get into a postition to get myself out. Was only me and another buddy, so we figured it more prudent to winch the front end around and let it roll out instead of risking more broken parts. We had wheeled a bunch the day before at Naches with a big group and we when left for funny rocks, neither of us threw in tools or any major repair stuffs. Not really a big deal however, we were all of 15 minutes away from camp.

jeep-to-toy mark 11-02-2007, 12:59 PM Hey, I live south of Portland Oregon. I've had Jeep TJs for years and know I've switched to the toy way of thinking. I have an 87 4rnr pretty much stock at this point but I've already purchased a grip of stuff. 85 front axle, Allpro SAS with 6" springs, Allpro rear kit with 6" springs, Long spline kit, 4x innovations dom rock sliders + other crap. I'm hoping to be wheeling again by spring or at least summer.:flipoff2: I'll post a pic soon.
redline61 11-02-2007, 02:19 PM I still am amazed at some of the rigs popping up around here. A pic of the soon to be wheeling rig.

redline61 11-05-2007, 12:17 AM Is that 8 mile (I think thats what it's called or maybe 9 mile)?
redline61 11-05-2007, 12:19 AM Sorry 7 mile, how is that area? I've heard mixed things about it?
cleatus92 11-05-2007, 11:47 AM 7mile is what you make it. For the most part it is pretty mellow and almost lame, but once you get bored and start trying rediculous lines and angles you can definetaly break your s**t and get into trouble real quick. It is fun in winter with good snow and early spring with heavy rain and big washouts that will swallow a full size rig. It is really close to town however which makes it convenient to test out new mods and such. I make it out there about once a month, and usually at least break an axle. Check out the offroad section on www.inwadventures.com
Cleatus92
cleatus92 11-05-2007, 11:57 AM Well since I've posted here now, heres my rig. 92 Xj with 86 and 88 axles 4.10 TNT Y-Link, doestch tech shocks, Aussie in front, rear LSD, AJ's rockrails, Rigidco front bumper, RE coils, basdard pack rear, 2"BB for about 6" total lift. Homebuilt onboard air(CO2) plenty of trimming and body damage. Future will bring dana 300 twin sticked, chysler8.75 rear, dana 44 front, and who knows what.

I am also in the very slow begining stages of building both a buggy and a street legal roadtriper/wheeler.
Buggy will be ls1, coilovers, handbuilt 60's, th400 40's bla bla bla...
Roadtriper is a 91 runner with a 4.3l, sas with 12" SAW coilovers in front, ARB's f/r 4.88's super low on 35's. I just started on the runner, still colecting parts for the buggy.:shaking:

Plans are your typical mud bog truck
My other project is a 1974 Pontiac Ventura.
Plans are for a "fire truck" themed mud bog/mud race truck using a K5 frame and 1/2 ton running gear. I have a light bar from when I was on the dept. Looking to put wig-wags in headlights, flashers in grill, an air horn, and a siren box.

TQJ CJ5 02-20-2008, 11:57 AM Thanks for the compliments. The paint is aircraft grade and seems to be pretty resilient. I also try to clean the rig after every outing so the mud, water, etc doesn't shorten its life.
tntcherokee 02-21-2008, 09:39 PM 92 YJ. It was pretty well setup when I got it. It has BTF fullwidth kits front and rear, XJ springs, 101" wheelbase, Dana 60's, Dana 300 with 4:1 and 32sp output, Hydro assist, sport cage.
I added warn 9.5ti, 5.38 gears, rebuilt the 4.0 into a 4.6 stroker, rebuilt the D300, swapped 38 swampers for 39.5 IROKs. I did a bunch of other miscellaneous stuff as well. I have only used it once in the last year but hope to start using it regularly now that Im out here.
My buddy is also looking for something similar to mine, he likes wranglers and earlybronco's. It needs to be reliable/hd because we dont have a garage yet and he is lazy to fix stuff when it breaks.
Here is a pic of the last time I had it tore apart in Nov 06.

I am at the point now where I need to either sell it, or build it and really start using it. The last time I went wheeling was when we went to browns camp last October. It'd be nice to find some people around my area that were really serious about wheeling because it seems that everyone that I know is really half hearted when it comes to the sport anymore.
Most of the time this is what it does. Sits in my shop and is ignored for weeks on end.

Overall I am very pleased with the cage, fenders and rockrails from Those Guys Rod and Custom, the fenders are attached to the rock rails, THOR's, and front bumper and are very stout.
Other stuff on the jeep...
-Custom front bumper
-Durango 4x4 tire carrier rear bumper
-4.5 inch rustys lift with 2 inch shackles and a inch spacer up front
-TnT Customs long arms
-AA SYE with Tom Woods shaft
-ACRO 1 ton steerig
-30 and 8.25 geared to 4.56, lockrite in front
-33 inch dean mud terrains
I owe Patrick and everyone at Those Guys Rod and Custom (remember the blue Jeepster from Crawl Mag, that was them) a big thanks for doing great work.

Here's my cheap truck ($250), 1984 Bronco, 300-6, T-18, NP208 and some old 33's (plans to stuff a set of Truxus after I'm done with school).

The all around truck (does all my work from hauling trash to runs to the dump, to playing in the mud and yanking people out). 302, t-18, BW1356, 32" Wildcats, soon to be leveled and locked in the rear and LSD in the front...

Anyway I didn't and took it on it's first run while I was home in June and it did great, I really like it and can see it just getting better.

Thanks to all my friends that have helped build it up. I can't wait to wheel it more when I get home for good.
kabuki 08-14-2008, 01:41 PM My new junk I’ll hopefully have done by the end of fall. I’m from Portland but usually do most of my wheeling in central Oregon when visiting friends/family.
It will have 44 rockers when done not the bald ground hawgs.
