Do any of you guys carry any kind of FSE with you? I have 2 fire extinguishers at all times, and since i've only had my truck for 2 weeks, i've never been off road with it (been dreaming about this day for over 20 years now). Due to my profession (construction inspector) i'm required to have one, and having seen many fires started by cigarette butts, i figured two would be smart. So what do you guys carry with you just in case?
- I figured with the current state of things in regards to fire season and trail closures this would be a good time to bring this subject up.

I actually like this question. Most of us are equipped with fire extinguishers for extinguishing a vehicle fire. If you’re not you should be. But what would you do if you came across a small ground fire? Personally I take my shovel during the winter months and rarely in the summer months but I will change my thinking on this and have it available year round. It can be an affective tool for a small ground fire or put out the still burning campfire left by campers. Another great hand tool is the McLeod. I have wanted one for a while to cut single track trail (on private land) so maybe I will get one. :grinpimp:

That brush tool you show does work great although the width makes it a littel cumbersome for stowing in a packed jeep.
Personally, I alway carry a shovel and a Pulaski tool. It is a combination axe and trenching tool.
Anytime you are in a high fire danger environment, good equipment can make a difference.

Agreed...the Pulaski is another good combo tool.

I carry 2 fire extinguishers, a shovel and a five gallon bucket with me allmost all the time. Usually the 5 gallon bucket has a bag in it filled with cat litter for any "spills" I might need to deal with.

I always carry 1 fire extinguisher and at least 5 gallons of water (plus drinking water). I also carry the max axe, have used the McLeod attachment several time to put out other peoples run away fire pits. I usually have at least one other smaller folding shovel.

IIRC the forest service always required you to at least carry a 2.5 lbs fire extinguisher, a shovel and at least a gollow of water in any motor vehicle crossing FS lands.
I carry two 2.5 lbs extinguishers, a polaski & shovel as well as 5 gallons of water.
This should be moved to general4x4 to get more people to see it.
Its fire season.
I have 2 2.5 fire extingishers in my rig, and always have water. I'm going to think of how I can get a shovel/combo tool mounted in the buggy.

I forgot about the 2 shovels i have in the back all the time. I usually use them for taking samples of the dirt for testing, but i have 2 with me at all time in addition to the fire extinguishers.

I always carry 2 fire extinguishers, a 2.5 and a 5 pounder. I have a full size blazer so I have the space to carry a shovel, axe, 5 gal bucket and 5 gal of water as well.
