My 88 Xj's headliner has basically completely dropped off, and now is only supported by interior roof light, and sides. How loud is it going to be, if I just rip the whole thing off? I don't mind loud, but would like to be able to talk to passengers while going 65Mph on the freeway.

It doesnt get any noisier if you take it out. The cost of replacing it is high and it is a bitch to work with. Do like many other XJers have and rip it out. Underneath is painted body color.

Very cool then, Im ripping it out.

It looks like crap right now, but its going to be interesting spray painting it, like the rest of my xj.

Ripped it out, lots of fun, hehe.

Got fiberglass splinters now...

Took it on freeway today, and its not much noisier than when I had it on, so Im happy.

OK I'll comment on this lame ass topic.
Only because I plan on doing something about my
simulated chop top (Sagging Headliner) soon!!!

I'm goint to go to Walmart and pick out the freakiest Old lady Fabric I can find in the discounted fabric bin.

Then I'm goint to get some 3M spray adhesive.

I'm gonna go home ande remove the damn haedliner tray and remove all the old fabric and foam crap.

I will then install the new freaky fabric using the spray adhesive.

I will post a full writup and submit it to Lance when I am done

He can put it right next to all the other extreme tech writups:flipoff2:

Actually, I was driving about 150 miles in my Jeep with my girlfriend (just took the Jeep for kicks). About 3/4 of the way through the trip she pick's up her feet and It had melted the cheap little rubber parts of her heels:D

Or we can Sticky it!!!!! Bad ass!!!! :laughing: I once had a Black Flys hat that looked like a couch fabric from the 70's it was orange, brown, lighter orange etc. I think you should get a couch from big pickup day and use that:flipoff2: :flipoff2:

The ugly couch print is along the lines of what I was looking for.
