Don't go any bigger until you upgrade your axels.
Simple enough!

33" tires on stock gears and open front and rear "shouldn't" give you any complaints, but I definetly wouldn't be going any bigger then 33's without upgraded shafts or replacing the rear axle entirely.

the 35 is a time bomb no matter what tires you run. my buddy splintered his to pieces with 33" all terrains without even really beating it too hard. if you have a heavy foot swap in an 8.8 and never worry about it again. im running 35" MTR's on a d30 front and 8.8 31 spline explorer rear. rubicon no prob. fordyce no prob. hollister including tank trap no prob. the 30 will break axles every once in a while but who cares. its takes a hour to change an axle (thats including breaks for beer drinkin) and they are cheap as heck to replace. my buddy is actually running the chomo axles in his d30 and his break more often than my stocker axles =) he gets pretty pissed about that.
