wngrog 06-08-2002, 05:57 PM WTF is that green beast that looks 200" long?
Looks like a killer course.
I doubt the competitors will be dissapointed in those rocks!
Jaffer 06-08-2002, 06:54 PM That course is SICK!
Hope ya'll had fun ...
Bones 06-08-2002, 11:32 PM Nice pics Matt! What'd ya think of Disney? Wanna head there after your rig is done for a weekend?
Chris
wngrog 06-09-2002, 06:12 AM Now you guys out west see why noone runs Goodyear tires in Oklahoma!
That is some nasty stuff if Don Robbins turned over, I have NEVER seen him turn his Cruiser over in Competition.
Mr. Bastard 06-09-2002, 06:58 AM Now you guys out west see why noone runs Goodyear tires in Oklahoma!
Except Bones...I think he was the only wheeler at Disney over Memorial day weekend sportin MTR`s. :rasta:
Big Rich 06-09-2002, 07:17 AM Robbin turned over at our Victorville event in March, but with rear steer naad the forced suspension he was able to up right and continue with just a back up and a stop . It's on the video, and very kool.

DAMN RIGHT :rasta: Once the tow rig is a reality, I will be back on SX's or TSL's for sure. MTR's did do well though. :D

It not quite that long 130" I think, its owned by Hogan of Hogan's Rv park in Disney. Trick little buggy, MOG 404 axles and 4 wheel steering. You really need to hear the thing it sounds as funky as it looks.

MattS 06-10-2002, 06:18 AM If I have the correct Jeep the driver was young, had a sweet chrome flamed helmet and could plain GET IT. He was a very good driver but his spotter could use some work. I talked to him and Jason Paul from Twisted Customs for a while about the line to take on the last course. If he wants any pics or video of his runs you can have him contact me and I will give him what I have. Oh and BTW he was trying to argue a cone hit on the 1st course of the upper runs on Sunday, I reviewed the tape last night and he did hit it. :D

MattS 06-10-2002, 07:57 AM Yep!! Chris is fearless. The JP jeep was having some issues. Not much flex because of the anti rock's on it I assume. But he was still doing ok. Will have some in the other thread. They are starting to upload now.

We have ran the first 3 Pro-Rocks and have improved everytime. You say I need some work, dont we all? We talk out our plan for every obstacle. Not everything always works out right. I do not see everything or can do everything right at every moment . If you got a problem with my spotting, then say it to my face. I didnt see you out there now did I. I believe I did go up to your friend Jeff and talk to him right after we went. Why not say man, you should have done this or this. Saying I need work  , next time I'll let you get out there and do it. Lets see, I walk Adam up the first obstacle the Waterfall flawless, Tracy Jordan rolls, yep his spotter needs work. !! Get the point!! But you know what, yea, im the spotter, and I will take the responibilities for where I put Adam. So the jeep broke several times, we fixed and continued. HMMM next time I'll just walk behind the jeep and let Adam take 11th by himself. Why dont u ask him what he thinks......Oh yea, we did hit the cone, but it was worth a shot:D
It was nice to meet you Daniel, and thanks for the creek crossings to get our junk. It really helped so we could get going again. Thanks big time!!
Go2Guy 06-10-2002, 08:17 AM I saw that on Chris' Jeep too- seems to me if you get the spring rates and geometry right everything works- if not you try to further tune it with anti-rocks??
Definately was a little stiff- i missed his show on the long waterfall but saw the video, awesome run, big stones! The WMS boys said he was the only person they knew of to scale that monster!
Go2Guy 06-10-2002, 08:31 AM Don't worry about the Monday mornin quarter backs, you guys are consistent and you're in there. It's so easy to criticize from the bleachers, we're all human.
How often do we go back and look at our own work and wish we did something different? I sure wish i thought of the the right line through the b gates on corse 7 yesterday- but i didn't. you just get tired, pumped whatever and no human can make the right call everytime. Cooler heads prevail. Keep up the good work!
On another subject- Daniel, we're you the guy doing the ferrying in the white Toyota pickup? Whoever it was he get's the boyscout award. If it was you, I handed you a cold beverage for your services- looked like you could use it!
Pdaddy 06-10-2002, 08:43 AM daniel, hahaha that big willys was insane, we had some drama with the pretty willy, playin friday night, broke all the blades off the electric fan, bought a spacer from Lance (thanks) that they werent able to run, then the friggin front end tried to come apart pulled the bolts out of the spring perch! that hole was fun to watch, I love it when guys hit it and there like, WTF!!!!
superzuki 06-10-2002, 09:06 AM Daniel- thanks for being the ferry. NO! not that kind- the haul people across the water kind. You gave me several rides- I didn't know it was you- the last time across with several people I saw the 6x6 card you had taped to the side of the truck and wondered if it was you but you were already loaded with patrons for another trip by the time I realized.
Have you changed your rear diff fluid yet? After 5 hours in the water it may need it..... :-)
Jason Byerley
Go2Guy 06-10-2002, 09:18 AM Your call, I'd at least check the level to make sure it did not increase due to ingestion- would also be milky- better safe then sorry- Don't think Toyota would warranty it if there was an extra quart of water in there.
superzuki 06-10-2002, 09:19 AM I would at least check it and see if it is over full or "milky" looking.
The water wasn't that deep but 5 hours is a long time in the water.
That truck is WAY too nice to take a chance. I really like the foe-doe Tacos.
Thanks Again for the rides.
I love watching people fall in that hole.
Jas
MattS 06-10-2002, 09:24 AM I suppose I could have said it to your face. I was the one talking to you, Jason, and Adam on the last obstacal. I felt there was no reason to get you pissed and off your game. Don't get me wrong you did good, but it could have been better. There were alot of times he backed up and gave it 2 or 3 tries and lost points when a few stacked rocks would have got him up on the 1st try. I have the tape to show you if you want it. Those punks you are refering to were standing next to me. And yes they WERE punks. Your GF that I talked to was pretty pissed at them. Not my problem. I would be happy to lay $100 on the line. You spot him, I spot him fastest time wins. Then we all drink  and fix the rig afterwords no matter who won. Deal? You want any help? I would be glad to lend a hand fixing the rig if I make it to the next event. My comment was not meant as a personl dig against you. I stated what I saw. If you don't ever get told what you did wrong it's hard to improve.

skinny 06-10-2002, 12:09 PM this is adam thanks for taking pics of my rig and for the compliments on my driving:D
MattS 06-10-2002, 12:14 PM I need to capture and mpeg that vid and get it up here. I'm browsing the BB today inbetween training new emplyee's and I can't get it done now but tonight it will get finished. It is plain SICK. He pulls up to the ledge and BOILS the fronts, then the rears and in full chris style mashes the loud pedal. The first attempt he almost goes over backwords!! Here's a sneak peak of the camera shots I got. :D If someone threw me a set of keys I would have tried any lines on the courses but not that one!!

gunracer1 06-10-2002, 12:20 PM it had to be impressive, i watched some pretty bass rigs hammer it and never made it past the ledge. did you get a pic of the monster willy on 44s when he endoed it about a hour later? i was talking to the kid and i said just wait till tommorow, you will feel it. he said he regular job was bull riding so this was no big deal. great pics. i just wished they showed how big that sob was. mike
MattS 06-10-2002, 12:27 PM I didn't get any pics of that. I went up to the top area by the dam gates. Is he the guy who pulled up to the bottom put a snorkel, yes I said snorkel!!! In his mouth raised his hands and got the crowd going? I was talking to one of the judges that had just left there and he said the guy was full awn nuts!! LOL Hopefully someone got some pics of it.
okcrawler 06-10-2002, 12:32 PM Here's quicktime video of Chris's second attemp (1.6MB):
www.extreme4wheelin.com/images/prorocks/P6093752.MOV
Here's his 3rd try (and the one that counted :D) (1.8MB):

I was talking to the guy who own the Gov Mule (the 9000lb winch point). They had origionally planned to finish on this stage, but after realizing how dangerous it would be decide to run it earlier. They were afraid a lot of people would 'go for it' and someone would get hurt (or a spectator).
They were allowing you to hook up a winch cable off time for safety to keep you from rolling backwards. That backfired when the bull rider's went over the cable snapped and just barely missed everyone!
[EDIT:] Chris Heart (is that right?). I did not see his roll, but I wonder if the fact he had no rear shocks played a roll.. :) Maybe he likes it that way, makes him feel more at home.. -yee haaaa-:D

Ya... no kidding. The thing about took my head off. I guess I was too close. I think they should require rope instead of cable in ALL competitions.

gunracer1 06-11-2002, 09:09 AM i really think they need to get the spectators to get back, i saw many people way too close to the action. and i can't watch that vid of durman making that big water fall. tried down loading different players and still struck out. mike

:( Sorry, I don't have any way to do that. My camera records in QuickTime, and I had hell getting it to work on my home PC. When I bought the camera, I assumed it would be MPEG. Maybe Olympus gets a kick back from QuickTime..
If someone else can help out, it would be appriciated..

wngrog 06-11-2002, 03:33 PM Is that Durham's new Jeep? Nice.
I wish I could keep mine from bouncing like he has.
Man, if I had taken that big bounce I would have been in the water below.
All of his Jeeps are so stable and non-bouncy!
gunracer1 06-11-2002, 04:21 PM thanks matt that was kick ass, it just doesn't look that steep. pix never make it look tough enough. i know when i crawled up to the ledge, i wasn't going to try the full on approach. i just sild around and backed down. and durhams got some big balls. he was the only one to make that climb ever with out a strap.
