Can a stock Yj brake system stop a 14 bolt converted to discs, or will I need to go with a Navaho brake booseter? What mods if any will need to be done to my brake system so I can run discs on my 14 bolt thanks for the help.:usa:

I've wheeled a friends YJ with the stock MC and all with 14 bolt disk conversion...all works well. Oh this was with hummer wheels beadlocks, and tires 35" or equivalent.
FWIW I think he is talking about running a hydroboost system eventually, but IMO it isnt needed unless he goess up quite a bit in tire size.

I have Gm 60 front and D70 rear with disk conversion. I run a 79 bronco mc on the stock YJ booster. I pulled the o-ring out of the proportioning valve an i can lock up the brakes no problem. Stops on a dime with 40" TSL's

Hey slut, maybe when we're doing my cage, we can pull that o-ring out?

I am running a front 60 and a 14 bolt rear with a stock scoutII power brake setup, brakes work beyond great.

I am that friend of MJ's.
Before the 14 bolt w/discs, I was running an 8.8 w/discs. I have never done anything except bleed the brakes well (still need to do it at least one more time on the 14 bolt...it's only been in a couple weeks). The brakes work fine. Like MJ said though I am currently running 36s....these are on Hummer wheels with the rubber runflats....so each corner weighs in at 142 lbs.
I only intend to go hydroboost because I will be running at least 38" TSLs or SXs in the future.
the stock yj master cylinder stops my 14 bolt with discs. i did remove the rubber o ring though from the prportioning valve.

WTF. I run D44 front, D60 rear 4 wheel disk. I am also running 38.5 SX's. This thing stops on a Dime or better. Do not need anything other than stock. The only thing I may do differnt is change to a bigger master for volum. Maybe.
