I was thinking maybe sometime this winter, we could get all you Cali boys out on the AZrocks. It's a great place for jambo type camping, wheeling, and partying. We'll see what we can do.

Forgive my stupidity :rasta: , but where did you guys do this wheeling at?? I was under the impression that most of AZ was closed. This looks like somewhere up near Table Mesa, but that whole area is State land until you get about 5 miles in, and State land is closed.
I am not trying to be a smartass, just want to find out what areas you are wheeling in that are open, if they are ;)

Get a map. There's only one trail out on Table Mesa that's on State Land, rest is BLM.

Yeah well, thanks for the informative answer.
:flipoff2:
Gotta love this board. Gotta map, according to it both the East and West side of the Table Mesa exit are State Land. State land extends for about 5 miles to the east then its Tonto Forest and about 1 mile to the west then its BLM. Just wanted to know where you guys were, so thanks for answering my question, oh wait, you didnt.:flipoff2:

Looking back over your first post I see you stated the whole area until 5 miles in is State trust, hence I thought you had an old map. Now I see you just have no clue where the trails are ;) Sounds like your map is correct. All the trails are over a mile to the west of I-17. I have never ventured East of I-17 (been meaning to) Raw Deal and the usual trailer drop point are the only areas on State Trust. If you want to know exactly where the trails are tag along on a run with Jack or one of the other guys.

We used run east down table Mesa road to Seven springs back in the day. Some pretty scenery.

Yeah, I had no clue where the trails are. Sorry, guess my question was misleading. My bad. I would love to come out with you guys sometime, as long as I have enough time to fit it in my work schedule, thats been the bitch so far. I have done Table Mesa east to Seven Springs, and have driven on the main roads west of I17 to Gilette and Lake Pleasant. There is even a road that goes all the way to the other side of the lake (close to where the backway to CK starts) when the lake is low, if any of you care.
I guess my main question is can you guys drive across state land to get to the BLM land and still be okay. I know some nice stuff up there for us losers with IFS and all (prob like freeways for you), hence why I was asking where it was it. Sorry for my ignorance and complete lack of knowledge on the hardcore trail locations. Thanks for clearing me up man, always wondered where those trails are.

What he was asking was "Is it ok to cross state trust land to get to BLM land"
I think as long as you are on a developed road and not trails.

Roads???
These concepts are unfamiliar to me.
What I mean is that if state land is closed to all recreation can you still use the ROADS that are on said land to reach other lands (BLM, Nat Forests) that still remain open.
From what I gather from the State Land Dep site all state trust land is closed to recreational activities, whether you have a permit or not, unless you have private property that you need to access by trust land, or if you are a law/fire official in performance of their duties.

Oh well, its no biggie, Ill just call the land department tomorrow to find out.
Any trips planned for you guys they I may be able to tag along?

Just don't recreate on the road:D .
Yes, the roads are open. I was told that the parking lot is o.k. too.
You just can't hang out and shoot and stuff. I chatted with a game and fish guy for awhile. Be sure whatever you unload and drive away is street legal though.

We usually post our runs here during the week prior, and anyone is welcome to come along.
