Sorry i meant full time 4wd. Im trying to figure this out here. when i bought my truck the guy said it had full time 4wd. i know what full time 4 wheel drive does but i dont understand the whole legistics of it. i saw that it had a low4, low, neutral, high, and high 4. so does high4 mean you can go on any road at any speed and it will stay in 4wd? and just high is rwd? how about low4? is that just very slow speeds in 4wd? also with just low does that mean just go slow in 2wd. neutral... is that pretty much like just throwing the whole tranny into neutral? i know its a simple add 2 and 2 together but im still new at this stuff and need to learn. thanks for the help.

you kind of mislabelled them. here are the 5 positions and what they do

low lock - low range, locked 4x4 (this is like a normal 4x4 truck in 4low)

low - low range, but theres an open differential between the front and rear axles.

neutral - if you need help with this.. well, too damned bad

high - normal range, use for onroad, highway driving. has an open differential between the front and rear axles

high lock - high range, locked 4x4. this is like a normal 4x4 truck in "4hi"
