I'm swapping out my 700r4 in my 4.3l and going with the NV3500. What do I need to do? I mean the not so basic things. Seanzy already threw me a bone, but I'm just trying to get it all planned out before I go ripping things apart.

Check out http://s10extremist.org. There is a vast amount of S-10 knowledge there. Just remember to use the search feature before you ask. The forum is very informative but guys don't like answering the same questions over and over.

In the process myself of the same (but my 4L60E is getting replaced with a SM465)...

My biggest hickup has been hanging a clutch pedal. Pre-98 S-10's didn't have a pedal set, they're individual. So I'm having fun with a stripped interior and triangulating a plate to the various sheets of paper-thin metal everywhere under there.

Other stuff to make sure of...pedal, clutch kit, bellhousing, flywheel, new flywheel bolts, slave cylinder, master cylinder, Nuetral start safety switch (if you care), hydraulic line, clutch fork, potential adapters to bolt up your t-case...

You'll also need to conquer the computer's stock "park start switch". Mine is different than yours, but I ended up being able to jump 2 pins on one of the harnesses that plugged into the 4L60E to get 'er to fire.

Wait till you get to the slave cylinder... the exhaust will point directly at it:shaking: which means a custom header, modifying your existing or grab a 85-87 carbed astro van 4.3 manifold

I need to completely re-do the exhaust as it is, so is it the manifold that gets in the way, or the Y-pipe? The stock y-pipe will be hacked to nothing here in a week of so.
