Jkrause 07-19-2007, 10:37 AM going flat skid route on a 1993 YJ running a 4 liter mated to a T999/32RH and a NP 231.. Cv shafts......
I do not want to install a body lifty PERIOD.... who's done a flat to nearly flat skid on this setup.. Links or pics are welcomed and appriciated....
RoCkSkuLLz 07-19-2007, 10:54 AM I have the same setup. 32rh / np231 no body lift with a totally flat skid except for a 1" drop section for the t-case. I have my t-case clocked in order to get the skid is flat as it is. Here are some pictures.

You can look at the build in my sig for more details.
RoCkSkuLLz 07-19-2007, 11:01 AM these might be helpfull too. Here is the tranny mount I had to fab up for all this to work. I especially like the fact that I can remove my skid plate and the tranny stays mounted.

Jkrause 07-20-2007, 09:07 AM Well.. I just ordered a clocking ring for my Np231 from Mad Rooster... $55 shipped.... hopefully things go as planned...
smurison14 07-20-2007, 02:42 PM great pics rock skullz!
I'm another one that went the hack the tub route. No body lift pretty much means you'll need to rework the tranny hull in the tub to get a flat skid.

Yep, and while I like what he did, it's not a flat skid - nearly flat, yes.
To quote RockScullz himself "with a totally flat skid except for a 1" drop section for the t-case."
smurison14 07-22-2007, 07:43 PM i would rather have a small drop in the skid compared to hacking up my floor and doing sheetmetal work.
Jkrause 07-23-2007, 08:56 AM Thinking I'll be happy with a 1" drop on the skid instead of body lifts and tub hacking .....
FYI running a 93 YJ SOA on 38" swampers (D44 / D60) combo running AZ rocks
zman-az 07-23-2007, 11:07 AM So nobody has a true flat skid without having to do one of the following.
Modify flat skid to be 1" lower around t-case
Add 1" BL
Cut tub up
I have done this mod myself and found the 1" BL is the easiest method for a true flat skid. Even when I did the 1" BL I still had to make some tub adjustments at the rear CV joint.

X2 - the 1" BL is the easy way to do this and I feel works out the best.
