: newbie in the house...
peiserg 06-09-2002, 10:41 AM Hey all.
Here's a little bit of info on me: I've had my 1975 FJ40 for 12 years, 2nd owner... Bought it with 52000 miles, now at 97000. Thus far: 4 inch lift with ext. shackles, power steering, 4 wheel disk brakes, Safari Snorkel, killer seats from a Toyota Supra turbo, and various areas of sandblasted/powdercoating.. I live in houston, and have met up with the TLCC-Houston guys for a couple years now..
peiserg 06-09-2002, 10:44 AM i was reading the "newbies check in here" section and hit POST instead of REPLY.. ah, i'll get it right eventually...
Sloan 06-09-2002, 11:59 AM LOL, welcome.:flipoff2:
ouibus 06-09-2002, 11:04 PM Welcome to the board.:D
Where abouts in Houston do you live? I grew up there. Went to high school at Second Baptist. Cool to see another guy from there on the board. Again, welcome, and have fun in this addiction.
peiserg 06-10-2002, 06:13 AM I live in southeast houston, near beltway 8 and 45 south. The club usually meets 2nd sat of the month at Memorial Park.... I work in the medical center, along with at least 3 other fj-40 owners..
ouibus 06-10-2002, 02:27 PM I wish that I knew of that club when I lived there. I would have joined. My dad still lives on the outskirts of Houston, but I imagine that he is too busy to join in a club. Although, he does has two of our three cruisers down there. Anyway, have fun in the heat down there.
Big DW 06-18-2002, 10:07 PM hey mongo...there's a new sherrif in town!:flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:
wngrog 06-19-2002, 02:57 AM Hey man
Welcome :flipoff2:
Anybody wheel out of that group? I have been told that there is a fairly large group in the TLCC, but not many like to use their Cruisers.
Any truth or just a bunch of hearsay?
Welcome!!
peiserg 06-19-2002, 05:44 AM There's a fair size group, maybe 25 who occasionally show up to meetings, about 7-10 who show up regularly. Maybe 5 of these guys are willing to try virtually anything, except maybe true rock hopping..

What?? You guys need to hang out with me a little! I started off with a nice stock Cruiser 7 years ago and look what Kate has become
I have a few friends down in Houston that I wheel with that run some SERIOUS extreme Cruisers.
I think the smallest rig in the bunch has 39.5's on it. They are in the Woodlands area and when they are not at Clayton, Gilmer, Tellico or Moab they go to the "Creek".
Have you ever been to the Creek?
I hear it is a fun place.
Rocksie 06-19-2002, 03:35 PM Welcome to the madd house...And a good ol':flipoff2: for good measure!
peiserg 06-19-2002, 05:28 PM I think the biggest rig in the group is a SOA '60 with 36"...there is a guy wiht a 77 '40 goin SOA as we speak.. I got tired of being the "midget" of the group with the only stock LC:mad: Now in the group i hang with I have one of the highest..:roxy: If i move to the woodlands sounds like i'll be the peon again!!!
heh, doesnt' really matter..what does matter is the woodlands is pretty far north of me.. although I would be very interested in going for a non-truck destroying run..:D
wngrog 06-20-2002, 06:20 AM You need to get your guys to become a chapter of the Lone Star Land Cruisers.
We have Chapters in DF/W, Austin and San Antonio.
We do a club run once a month and many times we have mild and wild runs going at the smae time/same place.
The DF/W and some of the Austin guys are going to the Slab this weekend....
Go to lslc.org for info on the club and info on the wheeling.

fj40john 10-31-2002, 01:05 AM Just found this thread!! whats up guys...didnt know you frequented the POR board. Cool. Now all I need to do is get you guys up high on some 3' or taller swampers and we can go wheelin!!!! (oh yeah im the guy with the SOA 40 he was talking about up there).
Nolen....I wouldnt mind hooking up with you guys at some point for a run once I get my rig all fixed (AGAIN!!!).

John,
By this do you mean that we NEED at least 36's to wheel with you:confused: And when I say WE I am merely refering to all the nefarious types in the TLCCH that actually like getting their rigs dirty. Maybe your memory has been clouded by the fact that your rig is in sit mode again:shaking: If you ever decide to stop building your truck, maybe we can go wheeling:flipoff2:
fj40john 11-01-2002, 11:08 PM Sorry, thats not what i was tryin to say. I know you (mike) have talked about SOA and some other mods (which I will gladly help you with if you want), and Gerry has his lift. I can't even figure out why I wrote it like that , but it was nothing against any of you guys. We do all have different uses for our rigs, so naturally, we build and wheel them differently. Some of you have them as DD's, others its a weekend toy. My personal choice is to make my rig into the most capable wheeler possible while learning a LOT about automotive mechanics and while keeping it streetable. I would never say that someone couldn't run with me because of tire size or other equipment. Consider my comments a friendly challenge...now lets get together up at Gilmer (or the Hot Springs run) and we can all see what our rigs as well as ourselves are capable of! (Well...if you guys don't mind waiting for me to finish fixing my rig  ).
kling-on 11-02-2002, 07:37 AM every truck, mod and tire size is the best and worse idea for someone thats why we live in a free state of mind you drive yours i drive mine lets all go wheelin....:D
bignissan 11-04-2002, 09:17 PM hey guys...i'm not a cruiser guy, but i have a nissan. i've been to the creek a couple times. it's nice. i'm planning on heading up to the hotsprings run in Arkansas for thanksgiving. btw, i live in houston/katy area as well and go to school with John in College Station.
