new 2500's

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyone here running the new aluminum rear driveshafts on any older 2000 to present 2500 hd's. Looking to eliminate my carrier bearing and looking for options. The driveshaft on the 03 up diesels are only 70.5 inches. I'm not sure how long the newer gas motor straight aluminum shafts are. Anyone have on they can measure for me??

What truck are you doing this to? GM had a bulliten out for replacing the 2 piece shafts with a 1 piece design to solve a vibration problem on some models.

A 2001 2500HD 4 door short bed, 6.0 with a SFA. I know the diesels driveshaft is to short and I havn't had a chance to measure the one in a truck that is the same make as mine. If it doesn't work I will need to have one made I guess.

Found a guy to build me a custom 5' aluminum driveshaft for $450.00. I'll let you all know how it turns out.
