hey guys/gals, i read the faq and didnt' see anything so please dont' flame me.. i have a bone stock 2000 4 runner limited, i am new and i'm not aiming for anything crazy, i want a lifted truck, pref 35's to do some trailing, because this will be my daily driver i want a kit that won't take too much driveability out of my truck.. all i've really found is the revtec 3" lift and it seems really basic and simple.. i know 33's will fit are 35's too tight with that kit? is there anything else out there that does not require a crazy install or custom fab that will work for me? i was hoping for about 4 to 5 inches.. one more question.. if i get the revtec kit is it just a matter of getting it installed and getting bigger rubber? or do i need any addition parts i'm not aware of.. thank you so much

this is probably the wrong forum for a lift "kit"
if you want to look at a mild tacoma build as far as this site is concerned then go here

nice, daily driven, and very capable. prolly more than some might spend though.

My buddy had a 2nd gen runner with a skyjacker kit and it worked ok with a locker in the rear, i have another buddy with a stock 3rd gen truck that has done the con a few times, just runs 31s and some bed triming... i say cut your fenders and stuff some 31"s on it and go wheel. If you " GET THE BUG" then do it rite, and sas it.

with an inch of lift I didnt have to trim to fit 33s on my 3rd gen.

I had 35"s on my IFS 4runner with 5" of lift. It's not really the best set up. You will make it just as far down the trail with 3" (or less) of lift and 33" tires and break a lot less parts.
i tweaked the front end of my drop braket lift so bad my CV axles wouldn;t stay together, they just kept popping apart at a full lock turn. and this is with very mild wheeling.
not to mention the rear 4link that comes in the 4runners also does not like to be lifted over 2-3", if u have to use drop brakets for that to keep the geometry right your really asking for trouble.
like others have said check out yotatech.com and tacomaterritory.com

You should take the above advice and go to Yotatech. Also try sonoransteel.com.
I have a 98 4runner DD. I've built my lift from OE parts from several different stock Toyota vehicles and purchased all the stuff from my local dealer. 35's on your stock drivetrain will suck badly. Stick with 285 or 315's on 16x8 wheels otherwise you'll need a re-gear and it's just not worth it on that ifs in my opinion. If all you want to do is ride some easy trails then the 285's will be plenty big and you won't need to re-gear. All this info is easy to find on yotatech and you can likely find someone selling the parts you need preowned (cheap).
Now run along before someone sees you here and fries your ass.:D
