I have just replaced a master cylinder and split rear brake hose has anyone got any tips for bleeding to whole brake system as i'm still not getting a good pedal.

The vaccume or pressure bleeding tools are a good investment for this kind of stuff. I'm not sure of the brands in the states, mayby someone else could chip in?

I agree with Merv there, i use a 'Gunsons' easy bleed, it connects to a tyre valve and pressurises the system from the master cylinder down (dont have the tyres pumped up TOO much though!!)
makes it a real sinch to bleed, and gets all the air out, just make sure that you keep the fluid reservoir full.
the LR book reccomends bleeding from the furthest cylinder away from the pedal and working back to the closest. seems to work for me.

I have a sweet Bluepoint one I picked up from Snap-on. It is amazing all of the things you can use it for. Has a pressure gauge and a optional small fill jar for small jobs. It works realy well to clean the old keg beer refrigerator. Cost around $95ish.
