I put a new AGR pump on my Cruzer and it didn't help my steering. I have a D60 in front with 38's aired down to 4psi and I can't turn the tires sitting still, I need to be moving and it hard then if it is in 4 wheel drive. I put on a different box and that did not help. Is this normal or could I have got a bum pump?
Thanks
im thinking somthing is messed up with your steering geometry

tell us more about your rig. FJ40's had no PS, so the PS is all custom. What did your box come from? is it crossover?
need details.

The box is a 3 1/2 box off a Jeep Wagonare. I have crossover and high steer. 38's and Detroits.

From what I have seen of AGR products I would have to say that is typical..

I was having problems with the box and pumps for my setup. Tried 4 differennt boxes. Put a temp guage on the box - 260 degrees -- ouch!!! Called AGR and asked to send out their complete rock ram. All I can say is holly crap - one finger steering with ARB in the front (FJ40 front end) in the freakin rocks. I'm running a hysteer with 35x16 boggers. My motor ran at 230-240 when struggling with the steering all day. It seems to have come down around 190 degrees and the box is warm, not hot. So far it rocks.

what? How can you even make that statement without seeing the rig first hand. I am with Willysand. I would not waste my money on ANY AGR product. It is garbage!
I also have heard bad things about AGR products. Also I firmly believe that "RockRam" steering is another case of paying for a name...BIG time. I would go to West Texas Offroad for a ram assist setup. They do good work and are organized like you wouldnt believe! (Something that many 4x4 companies are not).
Plus the owner is on here (TheLakeRat).
Also, without any experience in the matter really (setting up my steering next weekend) I would say that this is not unusual for detroits and 38s aired down on pavement. That is one of the hardest turing situations you can face really (lots of surface contact on the tire).
Anyway, I would keep the pump and get hydro assist on there to get ease of turning. I just wouldnt get AGR Rockram bullshit.
