I am planning a pre-runner comanche, and want a hot motor in it. In the past I have put 5.3's into wranglers and my buggy but dont think the comanche will fit the big motor.

Is I was looking into running a 4.6 stroker with, alum. head, and 505 performances turbo kit. they Claim 280 hp out of the stroker and 50hp from the head and 505 claims 95 from there turbo kit. THat will put me at about 400hp.

My question is do you think it will hold to gether, and be reliable to put that much power through the 4.0 block. And is it worth spending the money

As with any forced induction setup, you need to consider the compression ratio you will have with the stroker, and the amount of boost the turbo will provide. You need to reduce your compression ratio as you increase the amount of boost you plan on running. Considering the 4.0 chamber design, and Aluminum head, you should aim for less than 9:1 compression for a lot of boost (10+ psi) (General rule of thumb, Aluminum head with comparable chamber will allow you to run 1 point higher compression). If the head/deck clearance/piston combination you would end up with puts you much higher than that, you should definately aim for less boost.

IN general, its a bad idea to add or multiply the claimed power increases from different modifications, which may or may not work well together.

This all being said, it would be cool to see a turbo 4.6 built. As with any build, remember that any power increasing mods will require beefing the bottom end of your motor with quality rods and a good forged crank (I would assume the stroker kit should come with this, but it is good to maqke sure.)

polishing a turd, a small block chebby or ford can easily make that with mild mods and you can make it fit if i can but a sbc in a bug.

Just looking for a some cool factor. becaus it seemes every one is doing 5.3 swaps. But I think a stroked and turboed comanche would be a pretty sweet sleeper.

The question is will the motor hold together. becaus I hate to through $8000 into a motor thats only going to last 5000 miles

It will be fine...IF.....you have a good dyno tune on it and you keep the boost in the 5-7 psi level. Stock pistons/rings dont like boost much at high boost levels. Also make sure you fuel system is top notch.
