Have a 88YJ 4.2/BA 10/5
Read a couple other threads about removing the transmission/bellhousing. Do you need to remove the starter and dust cover at the bottom of the bellhousing to pull this tranny? are their bolts on the top of the bellhousing and if so how do you get at them? Any other tranny slide in in place of this POS?I need to replace the clutch and rear main seal and figure while its apart I may as well upgrade some.

Yes you have to remove the starter, yes there are bolts on top. For advice on this topic, go HERE (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?threadid=1456) and refrence in order the following #, 16, 18, 19, 38, 59, and 81.:flipoff2:

Your gonna get dirty dont worry its fairly easy actually like 4 bolts on each side, and a couple of hydro lines to disconect alos. an AX15 is what you want came behind the 4.0 and will bolt up in place of the POS peugot. :smokin:
