Ok Ok I'm sure this has been posted before some where but I looked on the search and didn't get it and I looked at the FAQ on d-90.com and didn't find it so I thought i'd ask here. What's the rancho part number for a d-90 steering stabalizer. I went up to four wheel parts (yeah my favorite place :flipoff2:) and gave them the measurements that I needed for the stabalizer and well they couldn't find one even close (18 compressed and 24 extended yeah it a little different than stock I turned out my steering stops so I don't rub) Longest extended they had was 22.25 so am I forced with buying one from land rover or ome? Either one is going to take a week+ to get here so I'd rather not do that. The only option that I could think of was a universal mount but I think that the u-bolt will slide where it attaches which would over time probably screw up the steering again. help needed i'm probably going to kill someone because my steering is so bad

Ben, I recently moved my stabilizer to the rear of my axle and made custom mounts. For the mount on the tie rod, I used 1/4" plate with two tabs for attaching the stabilizer (eyelet mounts on both ends). On the tie rod end, I used two 1 1/8" inside diameter u-bolts from local hardware store. Tightened down, they have not moved at all. I think using two really helps prevent sliding on the tie rod, so I don't think you'll have any problems if you go this route.

Why do you need such a long start and only 6" of travel?

I use a Rancho 5404 ,it's 14.35" compressed 23.875" extended for 9.50" of travel. There is a Rancho 5406 17.625" compressed 30.25" extended for 12.65" of travel. I don't know why 4wpw couldn't find it.

You can find all the Rancho specs on there page. Steering stabilizers are called RS5400's. There on the last page (5) of this PDF

Here is my 5404
