This was pretty much a maiden voyage in every respect. It was the first test run for the rig and also the first time that my room mate has driven on rocks, let alone in a rig with a locker. The sami did awesome. We found lots of sidehills from what's left of snow drifts, the wide track waggy axles make it very stable. On the rocks, the lite weight, power steering, lockers and gear reduction make things much easier. A bit more time in the driver's seat and he should be fine. No real carnage, frowned the tie rod 2", but we got it bent back. the check engine light is on, so any help in trying to diagnose this would be appreciated (where in the hell is the diag. connector??? '88 sami). Right now it is way overgeared with the 5.89's, calmini 4.16 case and 35 BFG's. It turns 4k rpm in 5th gear at 45 mph!!!! the planned changes are to step up to 37 MTR's, and Bent and Twisted 1 ton steering. Now I just need to get my truck done so he can try and follow me:D I'll see if I can't get some pics from a friend of ours taht had his digi cam up there.
