How much does it cost to camp at Rubicon Springs?
Also, since its private property I am assuming you can pull your vehicles off of the trail and park in the campsites, is this correct?
Thanks.

Here ya goWe would like to remind everyone that there is a fee to camp in Rubicon Springs. For any group who reserves Main Camp, the fee is currently $15.00 per vehicle irrespective of where they camp, for 1 * 7 days.
Groups using areas other than Main Camp is $10.00 per vehicle.
Mark Smith's secretary, Glenda manages the Rubicon Soda Springs Main Camp/Dirty Dozen calendar for the landowners. If people intend to use either of those areas, could you please refer them to me (Glenda) for reservations?
This way the landowners and Merlin Scott will know who's going in and there won't be any surprises for those who don't make their group reservation through us.
Thanks!

Yes, in the Springs you are still allowed to pull off the trail into your campsite so long as you're not causing damage to green stuff (or anything else for that matter).

when u pay for a spot ask the caretaker if the V.I.P spot is open.his name is Kevin. the spot is right on the water and has a large swimming area, plus its secluded.a few weeks ago someone put a killer rope swing up there,if its still there give it a shot, loads of fun.have fun:)

Be careful on that rope swing, you need to grab as high as you possibly can and lift your feet.
Someone in our group broke their foot at Jamboree this last week.

What happened to the original rope there?? break?
There's been a rope swing in that location since I've been going, in 1978.

the 'rope' i'm familiar with looks more like an old tow strap and from what i understand, it eventually got tired and given its low location, was not much fun. the new line is suspended on a zip line between two close-by trees and is about 15' hugher in the trees-- there is a pile of rocks to stand-on to get a better run at the ropes' arc over the water--- just watch ur toes.
