: Attica's parking lot kicked my a$$
Have you ever just had one of those days? My Sunday consisted of about 1 hours worth of wheeling and about 6 hours worth of driving. I did get to meet SpaceGhost (Mike), Troy and a few others.(sorry, I suck with names) They all are really nice guys. Mike, thanks for dragging my junk around:) :emb:
I was posing in the parking lot on a few small rocks just waiting to hookup with Mike.
Then I grenaded a lockout on the passenger side. Note: I'm less then 100' from my truck:rolleyes:
Then while trying to get off the rock I snap a drives side U-joint and tweak the stub shaft.
Not only that but I tweaked my steering. I get it all back together and head out to play. I notice I can make good turns to the right but I really can't turn left that well. Fawk it I say, I'm here to wheel. I run less then 200yds and the Fawker starts running hot. It just wasn't my day. I did manage to follow Mike down the creek and back to the trailer.:D

I have had similar experiences at the Badlands as well. one weekend I broke my steering. band aided it, got to the trailer, got home, rebuilt it, went back the next weekend and REALLY broke it. 5 minutes into the orange trail for the superlift event. At last year's Ramsey event, I ripped the front drive shaft out of the tcase yoke just re-spooling the winch cable. (My Bad) :)

I know, I'm actually a little worried.
yes i have had one those days :D hell i drove 7 hours only to blow up my new engine before all 4 wheels even got off the trailer. :D
always makes for good storys later

Worried about what?
Just get some slugs (flanges) if you're worried about hubs. Plain and simple there just isn't good competition in the legends class. You'll whoop up. Sh!t they get the same payout as unlimited class also.
The only thing I'd be worried about is your spotter.:eek: That guys going to break a hip just trying to get out of your Jeep.:D

That's a damn good idea:D . Wish we could do that. You might not have noticed but that tubed toyata truck buggy at the last comp. had a complete front axle for spares (housing and all). Too abd he used all the parts after the first obstacle:D :eek:

TrailKeeper 06-10-2002, 04:30 PM We finalized the course this weekend. It is both sick and beautiful at the same time. Darrel has outdone himself. He was actually using a jackhammer to shape the obstacles. I would say on average the obstacles are twice as long as the April event.

It's all good! At least now you know what needs fixed! There will be plenty of wheeling to come this summer. If I would have crapped before I got 100 ft from my truck I wouldn't need a new hood today!
Second trip up Purgatory and getting cute I flopped onto my spotters side of the truck (dude, stop eating before we go wheeling!), but with the advice of a friend with a different perspective, I proceeded to drive it forward and it righted itself and cleared the tree that mangled the hood.
My antics on the rock slab out of the creek pinched the other side. We'll do it again soon! It was nice meeting you and Old Syke who didn't look to me like he needed oxygen or a walker!
