I'm ready to buy a new set of 35's and I'm having a hard time choosing. The 35's need to fit on 16.5" welds, and be wider that 12.5, because they will be used as dual purpose tires, sled pulling and farm off-road.

those tires are super dangerous. At 55mph they become lethal. talk to anyone whos driven them on a hummer in the military. And there bad mud tires.
I also want to be able to do at least 90mph with the tires too.

Over 90 would be scary but a buddy of mine runs them on his dd and they seem to do alright in the mud, shitty in da snow though

shit...90? Why stop there, lets shoot for 120, and if that isn't fast enough just put on some "NOS" or bolt on a jet engine.
See if we can't endanger everyone on the road...:shaking:

id like to see a chart, or graph of how much a tire expands at 90+... if you look at drag slicks, they expand several inches. what do ya think a 35 would do?

just popped in my head. so whats this drag truck gonna do? what is it? a superduty running 400000 PSI of boost or what? what the hell do you need to do 90+ in that has 35s?

try out thyesuperswwamper TSL LTb's thats what i run a little differnt size. I can run a hundred plus on my 33's they do exellent in mud and field situations. Do good in the snow. The only draw back Ive found is they are a bit noisy on the highway. I wouldnt let people tell you the get lousy wear either. the ones on my truck, the rears have over thirty thousand miles and still going strong. I had to replace the fronts due to poor front end allignment.

Or been cruzin along and some fool keeps tailgaitin ya' but wont pass so you give a little more juice to create some space. Im not to shy to say Im guilty of it and I have have only had one accident since I started drivin and it wasnt even my fault they came around a corner lookin at x-mas lights and hit me at a dead stop.

my girlfriend has a 79 f150 with 35 trxus mud terrains on hers. they are on a 15 inch rim but i know i have had the truck at or around 90. the tires were no problem. the sloppy power steering was but not the tires. They are not to noisy on the road but still have a good hum to em. they work as good as you could would expect any street mud tires to in the mud. i would look into them. they do well on her truck.

and about the drag tires, a slick has a much softer sidewall that a mud tire. its like comparing apples and oranges. not to mention a drag car is running anywhere from 120 to 300 miles an hour not 90. but i guess they would expand a little.

Drag slicks are designed to expand to increase traction. Mud tires are not. try a radial. Maybe some SSR's or something like that. And I have riden with 187 in his Sh$t box at 90, and the tires aren't the problem. It the rest of the truck:D

I may be new to this site but Ive been offroading and around offroading since I was five. Ive grown up around cars all my life. It dosent matter if it was drag racing, dirt track, asphalt, or even scca. So new b Im not. And yes by the way drag slicks expand to increase traction they also spin at much higher speed than a mud truck.:mad3:

Please expand on your thought of "Your an idiot go kill yourself.". I have been around racing and building motors for drag cars since i was 16. Drag slicks are called wrinkle wall tires. They wrinkle on take off. They expand on the top end because theyy are designed to have side wall flex and it also reduces the gear ratio giving them more speed at the top for the same RPM. So, go fuck your self.

the tire expanding thing was a joke, so go fuck a blender if you are too retarded to read between the lines.

And no one here cares how long you have been "wheeling". Your answers and type of thinking just screams newb.
:shaking:

the point isnt weather or not a tire will do 90. Im sure my boggers will do that, easily. The point is it is not safe at those speeds, which is why the tires are not rated that high. If you want a real mud tire, you are going to have to find a trailer to tow your shit on. If you want a street tire that will do 90+ safely? then i may listen to your bullshit. even then, you shouldnt be posting on a extreme rockcrawling site. :shaking: Hopefully your thinking will not kill someone.

I don't really want to get too involved in this... but its been a slow day and I thought to myself as I was web wheeling, "you know, a little noob bashing might just be fun"... Therefore, allow me to point out that what you said are entirely two seperate things... My point is merely to state that in order to be taken seriously on this board, your thoughts must remain (for the most part) linear as well as coherent... as for the expansion upon his thought of killing yourself... its real easy, preffered meathods on here involve bleach, rusty nails, thumbtacks, blenders, and many other household items. Basically get creative, and take pictures too :flipoff2:

Now I'm going to watch Shark Week. :homer: BTW, I'm uber immature- don't bother pointing it out or saying "we could tell, you didn't have to mention it" :shaking: :flipoff2:

Ummmm......I must be newb...

I thought I put bigger tires on it so it can go faster with the same gearing? Right?

I just put 36" bias Iroks on my $710 eBay Bronco & now it'll peg the speedo before the wander gets so ya can't keep it on the pavement. Just find a spot where nobody is coming the other way & it's a safe as can be.

You old PBBers are getting soft...

i say he should get some 35s, and try to peg his speedo... while he is doing this, bring a video camera and try to tape the speedo with one hand, driving with the other. when your friends find you, have them send the tape in, so we can watch it on here. :flipoff2:

i had a set of 36x12.50x15's think they were tsl's but i had them on my chevy at...... well the speedo said 100. not to smart but what can your espect from a 16 year old. was very stupid of me. but these guys are old fucks and they are trying to do this. now thats really not smart. it could ruin there life insurance plan. dude just run the fucken tire and stop asking stupid dumbass ?'s. why dont you go ahead and ask what is the best gear lube to put in your auto trans. this site is not here to be asking will this tire fit this rim. and we arent dealing with mud stupid. and another thing. if you were smart you wouldnt be trying to run a g*y a$$ 16.5 rim anyhow. everyone knows they dont have a safety beed and you cant air them down. dont you want low pressure when running mud. idiot

Look Im not saying to put a set of mud tires on and go compete in the datona 500. Im sayin that not all rigs are just trail rigs. Some of us use our rigs as daily drivers slash work trucks slash whatever needs to be done. As a daily driver a tire needs to be able to do more than 70 mph on an ocasional basis and maintain stabilty. So with all that aside I still say that I am quit impressed with my swamper TSL's. As for any rock crawling they performed beyond my expectation. They may be designed for mud but at 25 psi i was able to crawl up and over rocks that I thought were beyond the limits of my truck. In the mud and wet fields they do exellent. As for driving on snow they performed well with no problems even in field conditions.I cut and haul wood with my f150 and they carry a reasonable load with out rolling on them selves like you have no shocks. So Im impressed with them I know there is a better purpose built tires for different uses but thats why its my opionion!

Everyones's experience's are different as well as their opion's. When i did my sas, I had 42" TSL's half worn out and unbalanced, drove good. My speedo was off a little, it read 55 when I was going about 62 and got worse the faster I went. But with these worn out unbalanced 42's I pegged my speedo in my '93 chevy at 85 and was still climbing. Just guessing, but I would say that was around 100mph. Felt like a stock truck at that speed and at a point swamper tend to get real quiet:p. Pretty fucking stupid? Yep, but i had a couple cans of nerve in me that night so that made OK, right:confused::laughing:. I probaly wouldn't do it again.

Just find a tire u like and run it. How many of those "big gay show trucks" do u see running around with huge tires and juiced up diesels staying under the speed limit. Most people will probably flame my little story..... and that will really hurt my feelings:flipoff2:, fuck it!
