for a rear disk conversion, look at the axletube between the ubolts and the hub. is this what its supposed to look like with no drums on it or is it something shady?http://ebay0.ipixmedia.com/abc/M28/_EBAY_7101192d20073bd316a8a97332be6cbe/i-2.JPG

THATS THE WAY ITS SUPPOSE TO LOOK WITHOUT DRUMS.. SEARCH FOR SCOUT DUDE POST'S AND YOU WILL SEE THE SAME SET UP
That looks like a Dodge D70 with the 3" drums. The flange is so far away when you have the big drums that you have to use a huge spacer plate for the caliper bracket and use the Dodge rotors, not Chevy like those pictured for use with the TSM kit. If you don't use a kit, you just weld the caliper bracket to the spindle like the picture shows.

The flange that you see on the axle tube is where the old drum backing plate used to bolt on. In this pic the guy just welded the caliper bracket to the tube (the pic is exactly what Scout dude did) Dually 14 bolt. My setup (single rear wheel D70) has the caliper bracket welded directly to that flange. Not bad at all as long as the welds are good.

Well, you'll never have to worry about wearing out the pads & rotors. They'll die of rock rash long before that happens... :flipoff2:

It looked weird to me. I just finished my 60 disc conversion. I had to make a spacer for the caliper support too, but a small one. Twas a biotch to find the right thickness.

This is welded to the spacer with the entire bracket bolted to the flange. I think I might just mount my caliper & bracket to where its on top like that 70 has, any drawbacks

Good luck bleading the air out of the rear calipers.

my thoughts exactly. the bleeder needs to be pointed up.

mine is mounted on top just like that. you just need to be smarter than a bolt to bleed them. :flipoff2: just unbolt the thing and rotate it down to bleed. simple. :flipoff2:
