Depending on your application, you may not need the GM master cylinder. Are you planning on running 1 ton axles?

nolan 07-30-2007, 02:45 PM yes i will be running 1tons.i have thegm with the oversized bore so i get full brake effect with less pedal travel.iv never been satisfied with my cruiser braking power and id like to beef it up.my master is about to take a dump so im gonna run the gm master with my yota axles for the last of the wheeling season. thanks for the firm answers.i think im gonna just order it and save some time. "how satisfied will i be with this setup,is it that much better."anyone know from experience?
rustyb 07-31-2007, 09:16 AM My m/c took a dump on me at Katemcy. I bought this setup and it works well. I had to cut the ends off of the brake lines and put on new ones that were the right size for the gm m/c ,then reflare the brake lines. It was easier than replacing the entire brake line. There may be some adapters out there to eliminate this but I didnt find any.
nolan 07-31-2007, 11:50 PM this really bites" rockstomper wont let me order the adapter without the master its self too. what bore size is rockstompers master cylinder,i really dont want another master but if its 1 and 5/16 then i will reconsider.is there anybody else who makes the adapter.

I'd love a Toyota master... but I need something with >1" bore. Words cannot express how much I HATE that old-style GM master cover that always leaks.
1 1/4" would probably be great for my rig.
rustyb 08-01-2007, 11:58 AM If you have a drill and a couple of drill bits and a hole saw, and some type of bandsaw or sawzall you could easily make the adapter from some 1/4'' plate. Just take a look at the pic above, get a few measurements for the bolt pattern and make it happen. I dont know what the bore is, but it is a 1 ton m/c and will lock up my 38s pretty easily.

rockthedog 08-02-2007, 12:29 PM done with proportioning valve

His are 1" bore, unfortunately.. :(
The LB6 and LB7 Chevy brake setups are 1-1/8" & 1-1/4" respectively, and have the newer plastic reservoir that's very difficult to make leak.. '95 C2500 gasser is an app that used 'em.
