: military expandable van 2.5 ton version
mywillys 07-29-2007, 03:44 PM 1969 M292A2 expandable van - non-turbo multi-fuel engine runs great, low hours and miles( I can't recall off of the top of my head). Airshift front axle, newer tires on front and outer rears. Sides expand out, has room for a diesel heater and A/C unit.
Paint is not good but little surface rust. Horn and low air pressure warning dont' work, needs brakes bled but I have driven it several hundred miles like it is.
Located in Morro Bay California
New price: $4000 cash or trades- see post on down a ways.

memopar 12-05-2007, 01:55 PM are you still in nm
mywillys 12-05-2007, 07:51 PM Yes, still in NM, been to Cali and back already.
If I had a firm buyer, I could possibly deliver between California and New Mexico for a fee ( that would be less than a regular shipper).

Vortec_Cruiser 12-23-2007, 08:30 PM Neat! I used to work in an earlier version of this when I was in Vietnam in 1966-1967. :bounce:

Etcetera 12-27-2007, 07:18 PM This is probably a stupid question, but what kind of mileage does something like that get? Would make a cool camper.
mywillys 12-28-2007, 04:40 PM My other trucks like this got up to 10 MPG but they were the shorter, cargo bed version( lighter also). This one I have only driven a few hundred miles and didn't check the milage but I would guess 5-8 mpg maybe.
mywillys 01-02-2008, 06:04 AM I will take $4000 cash or trade for a small running diesel pickup in good shape also, like a Isuzu P'up, Chevy Luv, Mitsubishi Mighty Max - Dodge D50, VW truck, or Nissan/Datsun pickup.
CodyLX450 01-05-2008, 08:55 PM Any pics of it in expanded form?

Munchies 01-05-2008, 10:37 PM That would make a SICK camper. Swap a b or c series cummins in it with an OD tranny...
Absolutely pimp, wrong time in my life for it though.....
big94GMC 01-06-2008, 08:32 AM How does it expand? Hydraulic? Electric?
mywillys 01-06-2008, 01:06 PM How does it expand? Hydraulic? Electric?
Muscle power!!
There are latches you undo and a crank on the bottem of each side that you turn to slide out each side. The end doors swing out to close in the front and back. I have the Tech Manual for the whole thing to go along with it.
mdd0127 01-10-2008, 07:45 PM I have an 88 Toyota short bed pickup with 112K that runs like new, and a 1981 Toyota short bed and I'd be willing to trade both of them if you're confident that the deuce will make the drive back to Durango. The 81 is rough but runs good and is all there. The 88 has been rolled(clean title) but I replaced the cab with a rust free, undamaged one and pulled the bed back into shape. The frame is fine. It runs straight down the highway and I didn't even have to align it. It's not cosmetically perfect but if you put a new bed on it, it would be close. I know they're not exactly what you're looking for but they will sell for $4k or more pretty easily. I also have access to two 1981 Toyota 2wd trucks that are diesels. One has a nice body but no title and the engine(2L) has been taken apart. The other one has a good title, wrecked body and the engine was running but will need rebuilt. It's a 2L also. There's also an extra block and head included. If you used the parts from both of these trucks to put one good one together, it would pull around $5K on ebay. Sometimes I have cash too. I'd be willing to work with you to figure something out. I'd really like to have that truck. My number is (970)799-5784. Thanks, Danny

G.I. Jims Surplus 01-23-2008, 07:39 AM You need to get a hold of me ASAP on this as the novelty of the expandability would work much better for the mobile part of my surplus business. I am located on the outskirts of Fresno, and have either the 53 Willys or, possibly a Bronco or 4 Runner to trade if you need 4 seats. Contact me at my store (559)-855-8788 or e-mail me at 51504x4@gmail.com. Bids are coming up on shop vans at Barstow and if I commit to one of those, I will have to withdraw my offer.
