well, ive been putting it off now for months, but it seems i need to finish my SAS...

I happened to look at my passenger front tire, and noticed the wheel/tire are doing this \ ... ball joints. my frame is cracked again. my truck wanders.... basically im fed up with it, and im ready to rip it all out asap.

So... im posting to ask, whats everyones experience with the 6" superflex coils with some weight on them...Im going to be running a 78 coil sprung Dana 44 (until i shatter it:flipoff2:)

i know they are great, and i was about ready to order a set, when i desided to go big block. :D sooo... basically, i have a 300+ lbs bumper, and goint to have a big block hanging off the front of my truck. does anyone have this kind of weight on superflex coils? ive noticed they do not really have any up travel, mostly droop. im not worried about the height, because i am going to move the coil buckets where i want them for my correct ride height.

my buddy has a set of the 8.5" coils that i can pick up for cheep... I really dont mind spending the cash on the superflex coils if they will hold my weight...

pics and your thoughts are helpfull...

heres my truck with a racho 4" lift...shackle flip, factory rear leafs... bla bla..
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g103/Adamovol/flex.jpg

and heres a pic of the bumper...

so, if the cash wasnt a factor.... 6" superflex or 8.5-9" lift coils...

anyone?

problem is, the new ones suck, they upped the spring rate to 300 lb/in or something along those lines.

I have the old(good) 6" ones in my truck, 200lb/in. It flexs great, drives great, and rides like a caddy, just be prepared to run GOOD shocks, or a pair of cheap ones. I have a heavy 351 in mine, with a winch, and manly bumper, they give me plenty of lift.

as long as my truck isnt going to almost flatten the coils, id love to get the twist out of the superflex's...

I seem to recall around 21" installed, like everyone else.
Good listing of them here..

Pic? here's one at ride height.. I can put up a poser ramp pic too if you want..

This is with 3 year old superflex coils, custom uppers to lower the truck by around 1-1/2" and a 3" BL.

from the sound of it... the new superflex coils are much stiffer than the old ones... i may look into just running those...

bb, zf, 1356....

and bumper/ 12,000 lbs winch?

too much?

i do not want to buy coils more than once.:D

the superflex's are looking more like the coil for me tho...

I have the old ones 6" Superflex coils and they flex great at 200lb/inch. To me they are only good for crawlin'. They are too soft for driving to the trail and haulin' ass. The new ones are at 300lbs/inch, may be a good compromise for me since I drive to trails, and daily drive my junk. As a comparison the Superlift springs are 400lbs/inch.

that was my thinking also. the superlift seem a little stiff...

look at fabtech 8" ttb springs. they are for a 2wd application.
i have them on my bronco. heavy ass bumper too. they dont really sag, but they are decently soft. ride is good on the road. flex better than any of the other ttb style springs.
i never drive my bronco on the road anymore. so i'm trading out mine for a set of superflexs that my buddy has on his daily driver.
i'll take pics of the differences, and pics of the lower mounts i made.
i have seen these springs used for 100 bucks several times.
they are worth looking into.

I have the 460# superlift 9" springs
they are plenty soft for me
I cant imagine trying to daily drive a floppy 200#spring

if you buy the superflexs and dont like them I will buy them off you, need a set for the rear link suspension

Just fawking do it you pussy :flipoff2:

If you're worried about the weight, run 1 ton front leafs. I bet those will hold it:flipoff2:

ON a serious note I know some one running a bronco with a 460, np436, 205 bla blah blah that runs those(old style). Seems to be fine for the trail...the oad is a bit sketch.

I guess ill just have to pucker up and buy the superflex coils. worst case, ill just have to sell them to my brother for his crawler :grinpimp:. how long did it take you guys to get the coils from JBG? i ordered sheet metal for my truck from them like... 2 years...?... ago? anyway, it took them at least 3 weeks for me to have it at my door...
