Just being in the TTC was a real privilege. The competition was at an unbelievably high level. All the rigs and their crews were great.

John Reynolds and his Bronco well deserved their big first place win. The Bronco performed well and seemed none the worst for wear. John is an excellent driver and took full advantage of a superb machine. He and Marilyn are very nice people and I enjoyed meeting them. Jack his co-driver is good guy and worked hard to help his team. Congratulations to them

Cory Dean’s Chevy: I don’t know just what to say about it. It did things I never thought I would see a Chevy truck do. His driving on the mini Rubicon was amazing, since he had never driven rock before. If he is an example of the type of drivers that are coming out of Canada we had better start worrying. He deserved his 3rd place.

Frog, Barry and his crew were a great bunch. The Frog is an impressive machine. It is designed for hard off road use and is not a beauty queen. The Frog did well in the driving events; it came in first in braking and towing and second in the hill climb. They came a long way to attend and I hope they enjoyed themselves as much as we enjoyed having them here.

Wolf359 Tim and Cody, a great piece of equipment, some good driving and one of the most interesting repairs I have ever seem. I thought they should have received an award for it. They repaired a broken transmission case with ratchet straps and two by fours. Then they took it out and ran it hard. They had some hard luck in the mud pit and tank trap with engine problems. Cody was the hardest working co-driver there and made work for the medics. Another great team from Canada.

Lavender’s Flatty. Toby looked good. His CJ3B came in first on the show and shine, First in the frame twister, hill climb and obstacle course. His driving on the obstacle course was very impressive. He well deserved his four-place finish.

Orange Jeep. Jerry had some bad luck on the obstacle course breaking a ring and pinion and the output shaft on his Atlas. His attempting the tank trap in two-wheel driver was a gutsy thing to do. He came in second on engineering and the ride & drive did well on the mini Rubicon.

White Blazer/mog, Rob and his crew were a great bunch. We were very impressed by the engineering on their truck, It is a very strong truck that really performs, and what wild partiers. Andy is very good at pig catching. They were a lot of help to us and we own them. Thanks to our Canadian neighbors.

Scout, Abba you have a fine truck. One of the things that impressed me was that this is a street rig. He drives several hours on the freeway with his family to go wheeling on the con and yet it was able to hold its own in TTC. If he had not had a little bit of bad luck he would have scored high. His driving on the mini Rubicon was excellent and he is a heck of a nice guy.

Jesse’s Mud truck, Jesse had a bit of bad luck on the mini Rubicon and took quite a bit of damage to his suspension. We thought he was finished, but to our surprise he ready the next morning. Jessie spanked the mud pit with a big first. His co driver Matt, who tells good redneck jokes worked hard and did a good job.

All the competitors were very good; on a given day anyone of them was a potential winner. We are very thankful we were able to place second in such a strong field.
Thanks and congratulations to all.

A Big Congrats on our awesome showing!

Question, would you run the 48's again?

I am wondering if yu had it to do over if you would.

I have heard great things about them, just wonder how versatile they are.

Scott / Raptor, welcome to the cruel world of POR.
It was great to compete with you guys, see your rig and how you drive it. And though it wasn't great on the ride and drive ( yeah, like mine was a cadillac  I had to go exactly about 33 mph or the drive line viberations would knock the judje's fillings out!) the rapter smoked where it was made for. Off road!:D congrats!!

( I still showed you how to turn a rig around though!. :flipoff2: :D )

In response to Wngrog’ question yes I would run the 48in tires again. In the rocks you need to keep the tire presure down to about 3 pounds. So you should run bead locks and a tub because the rim does not have an internal bead lock like a 15in rim does. You can use a bead lock on both sides but the cost $$$$. You need to weld together the bead lock ring and center in to the rim. I was surprised to find out just how good they do in the mud. TTC was the first time I ran them in much mud at all. The weight, well look out you need two men and your wife before you can start a lug nut. If you need bead locks you can call Tony at 916-645-2899 with Rock Gear he stocks them. I used 6 pounds in the mud, good guess??
