tsm1mt 06-10-2002, 05:09 PM Hey, BinderNut - will you deliver to NWBRU for me? PLEASE?
I'll take 200'+ if that's the case... :D
Bindernut 06-10-2002, 05:20 PM They are in 20' sticks. I'm actually unsure how I'm even going to get *mine* up to Mt. Shasta without cutting them into 10' sections.
If we can figure out a way for it to work, I'd be willing to try to get some tubing up to you at Seattle, but I need some ideas for transport, etc...
Whatcha think?

Well, I think they'd fit on the roof-rack of a Travelall alright.
MY plan is to put them on the deck of my 16' car trailer.
Maybe diagonally, maybe with the tube sitting up on the toolbox at the front and hanging over the tongue (if I can get that kind of "angle" on it w/ the Scout on the trailer, too).. or some variation of that.
OR I order the tubing locally at 2x the price and they'll deliver it to my door. :)
If a person had a 20' car trailer and was towing a Scout to NWBRU, they'd fit quite nicely on the deck under the Scout...

Yeah! My T-all gets about three MPG. That would eat up my savings for sure...
BTW Check the edit at the top...

3?? Mine'll do 10mpg or so on the highway - TOWING.
So does my Travelette.
Now, take 10mpg (maybe a little less).. factor in how far it is from Helena, to Denver to Moab to Seattle and back to Helena.
Yeah, my vacation won't be cheap. :D

jdjanda 06-10-2002, 10:06 PM Are they going to deliver? They better for 500'

Did I mention anything about your costs for delivery? :flipoff2:
No fawking sticks either. A hundred ft! You want a hundred feet of bracing material? Todd and I could use whatever you have left over. :flipoff2:

Monkeyboy 06-11-2002, 11:00 AM Josh can you check to see what an additional 40 ft of 1.5x .120 would be.
I'm thinking I will need to make some tube fenders and front shock hoops to tie into my cage :D
The 1.5" tubing will be perfect for extras like O shit handles for the passengers.
JoshC 06-11-2002, 11:05 AM Check the EDIT at the top

Bindernut 06-11-2002, 04:19 PM Josh,
If it's cool with you, I *might* jump on 200' instead of just the 100'. I'll know by tonight for sure.

I hope I'm not screwing somebody else out of 100'? If so, too bad, you're too fawkin' slow. :flipoff2:

I'll place the order tomorrow for the 500' of 2".
At that time, I'll inquire about the 200' of 1.75" and if it's the same price or less, I'll pull the trigger. Oh, yeah... and the small tube too.
It'll be delivered to Joe's place in Concord instead of Antioch. Joe has a big side yard we can cover easily.
I'm ponying up the money for this and really don't have it to spare so please pay me within a week or I'll send "BIG Monkeyboy" Todd after ya! :flipoff2:
I'll write again tomorrow to confirm the order and delivery date.
--Josh
Bindernut 06-11-2002, 07:59 PM Josh,
PM me your address so I can cut you a check and send it in the morning.
If it is at Joe's, can my share hang there until about a week from now? Or if that is too much trouble, it doesn't have to hang, you could just lay my sticks down on the ground and I think that'd be ok too. :flipoff2:
Thanks!

Steve N 06-12-2002, 09:28 AM Hey I need a bunch. Mostly 2.0 .120 plus some 2x4 rectangular if it can be swung. I'll come up with an amount. If you guys can hook me up.
OK I'm needing like 300' of 2" what say you Josh? My homies Todd, and Mike can vouch for me :flipoff2: Can you add to the 500'? If so I could probably pick up the extra footage that Todd or whoever needs on the smaller stuff to make up the 100' lengths.

Steve N 06-12-2002, 09:52 AM Brad did he PM'ed me. :p Scouts? :shaking: besides I've owned more Scout's than most people on this board:flipoff2: (4?)
JoshC 06-12-2002, 11:18 AM Steve,
I'd love to hook you up but my card is maxed and I don't have the extra dough.
Wait. How quickly can you send me a check? Sean already sent me his $$ and it should be here in a day or two so I may be able to pull this off.
I'm going to call and see if they can accommodate another 200' right now. Keep an eye out here for the reply...

Monkeyboy 06-12-2002, 11:29 AM I'm on the phone with Steve ordering a pitman arm.

The Fleckster 06-18-2002, 11:19 PM Hey Gang,
Curious why you went with Hrew? I mean our life is worth something, why not spend .25cents or so more and get DOM tubing. I am just curious, thanks. Is the DOM down there way more than $1.50 a foot?

Fleck - can you get me 2"x.120 1020 grade DOM for $1.5/ft in Seattle??
If so.. wanna come up with a delivery / service charge and bring me a couple hundred feet to NWBRU? :D
Since BinderNut couldn't. :flipoff2:
The Fleckster 06-19-2002, 01:42 AM Tom, i went out into the offic and found my current price guide. Looks like price went up a bit since i last checked last year.
2" HREW .120 wall is $1.85 a foot and DOM is $2.90 a foot.
I will call and see if there is a bulk buy deal.
Hey i just got my Tn-100 Tube notcher, 2" die 6.5" radius, JDsquared model 3 bender today. woo hoo. Now i gotta buy the ram that does the full bend in one stroke and the hydro pak. I will eventually work my way up to the model 4 bender but since its out of my pocket now i will start with the 3. Look for a post soon about this

I can get 2x.120 HREW locally for $2.67/ft, but they can't guarantee me if it'll be 1010 grade, or 1020.

I thought you were going TubeShark?
If I ever order some tube and find a little time, I might get to play with my JD2 that's been cluttering up the shop floor for a while... :(
The Fleckster 06-19-2002, 10:19 AM Tom,
I am gonna save up the profits from doing cages to buy either the 4 or the tube shark.
Tom explain the 1010 vs 1020 content of the metal difference please.
Yea i suspect the 2.90/foot is first joe shmo price and i can get it down to around $2.00/ft or so i think. I am gonna check today.

1020 is stronger than 1010. By a bunch. I don't recall the #s.
Sean still hasn't made it really clear to me if, say, 1.75x.120 1020 grade is better (stronger) or worse than 2"x.120 1010 grade.
It's all sort of like the 1.75" x.095 4130 vs 2"x.120 "normal" steel (1010 or 1020, or Old Scout's favorite, 1018)
Depending on the price, I might want 10 sticks of the stuff.. should ask a few friends locally that need to build some cages if they're about ready (of course, they all plan on using my bender...)
