Notice anything odd about this rear window? I just cleaned them up and added a little bit of Australia to my front yard.:D

Plus the factory ones don't have those goofy screens that my dog would have jabbed his head through anyway.:D Dang, now I'll have dog drool all down the back of the 60.

BTW, these windows don't mount like the ones that are in there now. These apparently just use some sort of epoxy to mount them to the outside of the truck and go. Pretty easy to break into the truck at that point. Any Aussie guys on here that can give me some insight to the mounting process???

Sloan, nice find. I always thought the real ones would be much nicer than the questionable ones that are usually used. later

Standard on the 80 series and very handy for getting beer out of the ARB freezer/fridge.

Great addition for your 60.
:D

I just finished installaing a cig lighter outlet in the back of my fj60 to run the ARB. But, I'm bummed I'll have to open a door to get a cold one. The sliders provide great access to the back when packed for camping.

Haven't heard from him but have heard about him. Heard that he was visiting some Land Cruiser folks over the weekend in Texas. I am sure he will pop back up when he gets settled.

He is back in Maryland on Friday and Saturday, and Sunday (coming to the BBQ at my place Sat). After that, New York for two weeks, back to MD 3 days and then aloha Texas.

Wow and that appears to be at a dealership. Hey can you ask and find out how those are mounted? Are they really just epoxyed to the outside of the window opening? What sort of adhesive are they using? Thanks Ozrunner.:D

I also really like the ambulance doors on that 60 too:D

Sloan

I tracked down a set of ambulance door and all the hardware for an FJ 60. The reason that I didn't do it was with the tailgate I have somewhere to sit down. Also where I used to work we had a Suburban with the ambulance doors and that cuts down on your rear view mirror viewing area.:)

Who could we bribe down under to locate and ship
as many rear sliders as possible? I would make it worth someones while if they did.. I have heard that the ones you can buy from $OR do not work that well at all..

who is going to step up and be a hero?

Its my local wrecking yard next to a dealer which is very handy, LOL.

Sloan, no problems I will check how they are attached.

Anything can be shipped. Right now I am sending heaps of pics and costs on all sorts or items to a guy for a shipment of LC stuff. Organising supply of probably 4 completely rebuilt H55 5speeds and transfers and 2 H41's. Visiting the rebuilder tonight to lock in a cost.

The trick is to get together and share shipping on items.

More than happy to help with these windows if they are what you want. But not all are perfect so its a case of searching over time. Actually I'll check with the dealer and see if the frames can still be brought new.

Hey, check on the rubber gasket inserts on them that the windows slide in and if they can be purchased new. I'll send you somehing cool from Hollywood.;)

If someone is putting together a group buy for the rear sliders, please count me in. I have the $$ ready.

The BARE frames are still available new but you don't want to know the cost, LOL. About $US250ea Yikes. Used ones will do thanks, LOL.

I got a cost on the internal slider stuff and no problems on supply and a little more reasonable. About $US65ea. But there are 2 types. Up to 8/87 and from 9/87 to 12/89.

The parts guy indicated from the pic it seems the frames have bolt pins attached etc like the rear 4Runner windows but some gook is also used. I'll check Saturday at a wreckers.

I will take two sliders for my 1986 FJ60. That's if you don't mind putting together a set and ship it to California. I will make sure you are compensated for doing this for me and others. Contact me at x-scott@attbi.com when you have more details. Many thanks! :D

Fucked if I know mate but it does look the same as those in blue cruiser. I'll ask the wrecker tomorrow as he will know. Can't the guy you got them off tell you.

X-Scott

These usually sell here for around $US240 a set but sometimes they show up cheaper privately. If I find some good ones and have spare cash at the time I'll get them for ya if that cost is OK. I'm shipping stuff to the US frequently and should be able to include in someones crate for a small fee etc.

The wrecker guy indicated he's not aware of any difference in actual physical sizes etc so maybe the different p/n is because of a change in the material used or somesuch.

Also the complete window frame etc is only glued in using a selastic type material.

Just got another 60 in which also has a nice set of sliders and the ones in the blue rig are also still available.
