what is the smallest trailer tire for a 15" rim with a load range about 2000 each?
need something smaller than a 205-75r15 but with similar load capabilities.
I estimate my buggy weighs about 5000-6000#. I have a tandem axle flatbed trailer, and am trying to get the height down a bit. I figured it needs tires anyway... so thought maybe someone makes a low profile trailer tire.

if you know of anything please let me know. (ps. i cant go any smaller on the wheel due to the brake diameter)

and just curious... do they make a dually conversion for trailers?

I've never seen smaller.
I went bigger on my trailer tires to increase the load rating.

Seriously?

225/75r15 225x.75/25.4=6.64" sidewall

205/75/15 205x.75/25.4=6.05" sidewall

WOW, an entire .6" shorter.:eek::shaking:

what do you want, a 17" high tire on a 15" rim:confused: Come on, changing tire size isn't going to get you a noticable lower center of gravity or height.

Oh, and yes, I realize you said nothing about 225's. My point is, even dropping a few sizes isn't going to do shit in the height department. If you're that worried about it, get a stock set of tires to bolt on the buggy. Then you'll see a height change.

I actually considered this option for a good long time... but then i realized i would need a whole second trailer to haul my 800 pounds of military rubber and 20" steel double beadlocks. and not too many 15" rims come in a rockwell bolt pattern. so figured it best to keep the buggy on its own meat, and do what i could with the trailer.

I was going to put a set of those little dinky tires on it... like you see alot of car haulers have... they look like they are 15" total height... (my buddy has them on her camper) but then i noticed that my brakes alone fill a 15" rim so tight you cant even fit a finger in there... so there went the idea of mini tires... so just wondered what was out there in a low-profile trailer tire... they make them for cars... figured it was worth asking for a trailer.

hmmm... maybe i could just dip the edge of my rim in that plasti-dip stuff they make for rubber coating your tool hadles... a few dips and i will have my own home made custom low profile tires... and in my choice of 5 great colors. and you can even retread them with another dip when they wear down.
