so whats the deal with the power steering. I have a 1970 bronco and I just picked up a pump off a 302 78 f-150. I think it will work but I could be wrong. So where do I get the steering box. Off an f-100. will the hose fittings fit the same? and will I have to modify it a lot to make it fit?

The Box on an EB is EB specific, you won't find it on any othe vehicle. For options look at http://www.bcbroncos.com there's a write up on using a 4x4 box and a mid 80's 4x2 sector shaft to get the box to turn in the right direction. Also all the aftermarket places, Duffs, Wild Horses, and such carry a kit. Or do like I did and scrounge the jy's until you find one.

Stock EB steering will run you $600 plus unless you can score a deal from a dummy. There is a Toyota convesion that works great, F150 and like Allen says the one that Chuck has. For ease and strength I would head for BC Broncos and get a box from him. Your pump will will work with all of them.

I have the 2wd f150 box and it is long I think that if I had it to do over I would do either the 4wd box converted or toyota like FearMe or something else. Also food for thought the round Ford pumps suck butt get a sadanaw and make it fit.

The long dong F-100 box is super easy to swap in and is at evey pick and pull.
Ditch the ford pump and grab a saginaw from a GM.
EB folks have put just about every PS box on there know to man, so just find one and make it work

lure, you may want to try a basic search if you can.. on google or something.... but here is a little something for you
toyota (http://classicbroncos.com/webmap/Steering/Power_Steering_-_Other/)
check out the webmap to the left too... more than I gave you
maybe that can help a little... I have a toyota 4x4 like the box used.. I run 33's and I'm not sure that it could stand up to the stress of much bigger of a tire...

If you have some common sense, have some tools and can weld the Toy converson will run $200 or less. depending on how much you can scrounge and how patient you are.
If you want to give it a try start here. Read down to the PS part.

I just got done with the Toyota swap on my F-100... but the pics are too big to upload them. let me know how you want them. I just got every thing completed this past sunday. no leaks yet and it works like a charm. by the way here's the break down.
pws box $85
pump with lines $80
custom hose $110
pitman insert $20
new draglink $80
I've reserched this for about 7 months it did take some fab work but it was pretty easy. total install would defenatly take more than a weekend straight. hell took me 7 months but I'm slow

If he is uncertain he can do it, the 2wd f150 box is probably his best bet as he can buy the bracket already made and scrounge the rest.
This is all very good info
Thanks a lot
