Some of the fastest, get it, or go home driving I have seen. Some teams with nothing to lose and only respect to gain. Others just trying to hang on to their series lead, and keep the lower ranked teams at bay. Some were successful, others were not. This track, like most, required teams to be consistent and fast. One small mistake meant the difference between second or fifth, with only seconds separating them. First, however, was out of reach to all but Shannon Campbell. He wasn't going to let anyone take his first place finish, because, "If you ain't first, you're last".

Carnage came in the form of rolls, fires, broken wheels, flat tires, lockers, links and driveshafts. Just a weekend of friendly competition for most of these teams.

Congratulations to the Western Series Top Ten, and to the top twenty that will be competing in Colorado Springs in the finals. I will see you there, with cameras in hand, dodging your dirt, flying rocks and yes, even the occassional racer coming right at me.

Did you get Lydia in mid air off the jump in her second run (rear link and drive shaft hanging out)? I know Tim was up on the hill with me, but IIRC I thought I saw you down near the jump. Let me know, I definately want to get a hold of it if you did.

Roger loves them. Very stable in the turns and competitive in the rocks. I'll be trying something else new and different for the :eek:other:eek: rock race.
