Last night I bought an 02' HO Cummins 3/4 ton 6 speed for a great deal! 3400 miles on the odometer:D
Anyway, I have some questions...
1. I can tow in 6th gear right?
2. Is it gonna hurt anything to start off in 2nd gear (NOT under tow of course)? (1st gear is megga low!)
3. Anyone ever tried the Cummins brand motor monitor deal with all the bells and whistles? (I was thinking about getting one asap.)
Thanks!!!!

Yes, you can tow in 6th gear all day long.
Yes, you can start out in 2nd gear all day long.

I've looked at the quick check deal it looks very cool. I kinda doubt you run into many problems that you need it for though. I'd spend that money on a boost, pyrometer and fuel pressure gauge setup. Yes to questions 1 and 2.

What axles are under that rig?
Dana 60 up front, Dana 80 in the rear! Biggest axles you can get on a 3/4 ton I know, I think 1 ton too.
No you cant have my address:D:D:D:D

Very interesting. I'd heard that they were going to AAM axles, but obviously have not yet done so. I need a crew cab; would rather get the Cummins, but would also like the Dana axles. Don't know if that combination will be available.
You mean you dont know if the 2003 diesels have Dana axles?
find and check that diesel registry club/ online magazine. Cant seem to find the right adress but I was there earlier today (different computer) and it had a big writeup with everything youll want to know.
Good luck.

2003 Dodge 2500/3500:
AAM axles, not Dana (fine w/me).
No crew cab.
The link you were talking about is www.tdr1.com

Thanks for the link Pete; but it looks like the new "Quad Cab" as seen on the 1500 is still there. OK, it isn't a real crew cab like the Fords but it does have four doors and six seatbelts; is it still on for the heavy-duty 2003 models?

Yes, they will have the Quad cab. IMO not much of an improvement over the current ('98-'01/2) one.
