If its not broke. Its not dead. Unless you are reversing them. I would say to get an add aleaf. You are not worrying about flex. It will get it back on its feet. Not sure which to get , but JC Whitney has the rough Country 2" add a leaf. for pretty cheap.:D

Yeah I think the 98's had a recall on the springs. Overload, airshocks or maybe airbags????
how many miles are on it? 2000 would be under warranty if the mileage is 36K or under.
IMHO - I would suggest a bolt on air bag overload kit. Sounds like the perfect addition to handle the added loads, and not kill the ride.

If you are looking at something cheap and easy, go air shocks, that will level it back out when loaded. That way when she isn't carrying something, the ass end of your truck want be in the air ( if you put a lift spring)
Go to autozone, get some airshocks and try it out, Hell, if it don't work, take them off and get your money back.
Didn't you say it was a company vehicle??? I would n't worry about it, just drive the sh*t out of it

I put on air bags when I saw them at the Toyota dealer and he gave me a "gotta get rid of em" price (I think it was somewhere around $150). They work great when you're carrying a heavy load and empty them when you're done.
