I am looking all around on here and was wondering if anyone had a forum on changing front and rear diff fluid. I dont have any filler bolts to fill my pumkins. the only thing i have ever heard of was on an episode of trucks and they said to fill up a large ziplock bag with diff oil and bolt the pumkin back together with the ziplock bag inside. they said the gears would chew the bag to pieces anyways. is that a good ideal or is there another way to do this??? thanks for any advice.

 yeah put a zip lock bag in it. let us know how it goes
I would add a filler to my cover if I had to before I put a plastic bag in my diff. that is just stupid.:flipoff2:

those axles should have holes to add fluid, the front one will be on the cover and the one on the rear will be on the side towards the top. if for some wierd reason they aint there, just fill the axles through the vent tube. thats what i do when those drain bolts dont come off :flipoff2:

they have fill plugs. In the rear it will be on the passenger side above the webbing that goes from the axle tube towards the yoke on the pinion. It will be a 3/8" square drive plug. The front will be something very similar if the cover does not have a fill plug. I have worked on at least a thousand of these axles, and have never seen one that didn't have a fill plug.

by the way I have seen people use the zip lock baggy trick, but only on the trail when you have to drain the diff into a bag, and don't have any other fluid to put back in it. And if you ever do that, you want to open the diff back up when you get home and get out whatever pieces of the bag that are floating around the diff.

There are right ways and wrong ways to do everything, and I can guarantee you that if you have an axle, there is SOME way to fill the diff.
Other than using a zip lock bag.
