: lookin for help

first off i'm not on my game with 14 bolt stuff so no flaming needed
i'm in to toyotas,just tryin to help him out,so here it is
my nephew has a 85 3/4 ton cheby 4X4
with a 14 bolt in the rear !
the rear drum broke in half and he is lookin for a new one
so heres the prob. the # on the tube comes up that it is a
1973 1 ton rear end ! he has tryed 3 diff. drums from orillys (no luck)
heres the # TFHG1248
thats on the top of the pass. side tube (still on the rear end)
any help out there ??

the idiots at oriellys could be giving you a drum for a semi floating 14bolt. There are also 2 different size drums used on the full floating 14 bolts. Just a thought, but a disc brake conversion on a 14bolt is very easy and inexpensive.

or just going to the local boneyard and finding a drum that matches....

throw those fucking drum in the garbage.

i did the brake swap for $280, and thats buying sky's brakets which are 2x as much and new wheel studs, which isnt neccassary.

disc brakes kick ass.

do the swap.

by the time you get through fuckin with drums, you could have done it 3 times, and you will be twice as happy.


oh... AND the truck will STOP.
