I have a problem than i need to get fixed!
I just completed the install of a Clayton 5.5in LA lift on my 2001 TJ. I have set the track and toe-in on the front axle. I have the stock steering setup and D30. When i turn the steering to full lock right i have clearance issues. The clearance issues involves the TRE at the drag link and tierod intersect and the factory swaybar link bracket on the axle. I have read many threads that suggest grinding down the bracket and then cutting the top of the bracket off and rewelding it higher and toward the rear to gain even more clearance. I dont want to have even more clearance issues when the suspension cycles with the steering turned to the right. I am also adding some washers to the factory steering stop to keep it from turing that far. I was wondering if this is still the most common fix as many of those threads were more than a year old? I am unable to purchase a new steering setup at this time due to my frugal college budget. I am looking at the TBT alumiflex steering setup for future installation. Is this still the common fix or am i missing something?
