I'm thinking about putting them on the back of my 85.
I've heard that they make downhill a little wild
How long to make them?
Opinions?

I used my stock rear 1988 rear main leaf,, cut at 23"s,, they work good,, I have a u-bolt lock down for the road,, but dont really need it,, as for going down hill,, not a real problem,, but my buggys arnt real long,,, they drop off the frame about 8"s when axle bound

3/4 eliptic so i would say half the length of your springs.

hey Vova, If you are going to do a buggy leaf, run a limiter strap dead center on the axle. set it to allow the full leaf to extend but prevent the 1/2 from leaving the frame. that way it wont pack up on decents and you wont loose any articulation because the strap is in the center.
