This sheet is pissing me off. Trying to find the correct application for the rebuild of the auto. TCI lists three possible units.

141230, lists for 904, 27 spline, 11" dia, w/attached ring gear
Old Scout listed this one for his application

142240, lists for 727, 27 spline, 11" dia, w/attached ring gear

752100, list for Command 727, years 71-80 non-lockup for Jeep version of the 727 (I did know the 727 was offered before 80), no attached ring gear, 27 spline 11" dia.

OK now which unit is the correct one for my application?

Thanks Joe

Looks to me like they all are, Joe. :flipoff2:

You can use the converters with ring-gear - it won't hurt anything, we don't use the ring-gear, but so what?

As long as it's a non-lockup..

I wouldn't be real sure about the 904 one, but OS says he used it so...

Come Aw OS, any input on this critical item. I've got one shot to get this right for the 4th of July weekend. All the TC's are special order so if I get the wrong one I'm screwed.

Y'know, you could always call an IH supplier and order one - I betcha they'll have one that'll work. :D

If you go read my post that part # was brought up as a price comparison to Toms super high Dollar race TC. I did state I was going to use a TCI TC when mine blew up, but was not there yet. The part # given is not right for a IH V8 motor, but would work if you wanted a low engine torque style TC. For example a SII with a 258/727 would be perfect for the 904 TC.

Did you see the special built super low stall for sale on the BB?:p

I was very impressed with this converter, i built my rig strictly for 4 wheelin and this will enable to you crawl. I bought an atlas II with 4.3 to 1 ratio after buying this converter. It was too low for me, but for anyone that has a dana 20 (this is what i had and it was incredible the difference) or 300 you will thank me. I bought it new for $250 and will sell for $150. It's a steal, i need money for my coil over shock suspension!

His comment has me a little worried about to low for 4.3:1 Atlas, I'll be running a 300 with 4:1. Hmm I'll send him an email.

Thanks for the heads up.
