I had problems with one Kimber that had the external ejector, it was on one of my CDP's I dont remember if it was the Pro or the Ultra. But after a quick & free trip to the gunsmith it and my others work great. I won't talk you out of it :D

If it were me, I'd put that money on a SIG and get yourself a nice little flashlight/laser combo for the tactical rail...then you're talking tactical use, and LE performance. SIG's just don't screw up like Kimbers. I've heard of too many that have "stopped working."

No LE or tactical use...its tacticool, and it will be used for personal protection and target shooting.

I have a Kimber pro-carry 1911 .45

I love it. I don't have anything bad to say about it.
Great gun. :smokin:

and was thinking it was you that typed that...the pic isn't showing up for me and didn't realize this portion was directly from the site.

Tacticool is a whole other ball game. Haha. They are sick guns...IF they work.

In my experience with Kimbers (I don't own any but have known about 5 people offhand that have owned them) all of them had a problem at one time or another (extraction jamming usually). Two of them "stopped working" and had to be sent back. One never came back and was refunded.

I am not impressed with my first and most recent purchase of a Kimber.

the guys on ARFCOM are too excited about it...I guess if it ever fails me I can always hit him with it...

I don't know with that kind of record I don't think I would trust them.

I have not heard back from them yet. The guys at CalGuns all think the magazine is the problem. Apparently Kimbe Mags suck ass and the McCormicks are the bomb in a Kimber pistol. I dunno, for 800-1200 (depending on model) I think I can do a lot better for my money

SigArms Revolution is my next 1911.

Wilson Mags are the :nuke:as well. I could not believe the crappy mag that came with my Buddy's $1300 Custom Kimber:eek:

STI. 'Nuff said.

Save up for another paycheck. It'll be worth it. If you haven't heard of STI, and don't salivate when you hear the name... Well, then you're gay, and that's all there is to it. :flipoff2:

I don't really want to spend over a grand on a new pistol...If I end up not getting this one or the S&W MP .45 Im going to start saving for a 5.0 Atlas
