Divorced has a 2wd tail shaft , and a driveshaft that connects it to the transfer case. Married means it is bolted to the transfercase , and has no driveshaft.

Most stock vehicles are married.

so your saying a divorced t/c is connected to the trans. via a drive shaft and the output of said trans is a 2wd type?

Yes . The drive shaft slips into the tail shaft housing and connects to the t case.

What are you looking to use it for? And what do you want it to do ?

I was thinking some type of 205-205 doubler type setup. I'm not real up on terminology but once I got the stuff in font of me I can usually work something out.

Depending on what side drop you need, Ford, Dodge, and IH's are where you will find the majority of the divorced NP205's. I am pretty sure the year range you want is roughly from 1970-1975 in any of the three, but with a little sirch you could narrow that down.

73-77.5 f250 for divorced driver drop, I believe. I have one laying in the garage, but it's not for sale.

yes, yes it will. Suzukis have divorced t-cases as well, FWIW. Obviously they would not be up for duty on a suburban. Just wanted to throw that in here for searching purposes...

Divorced t-cases are a pain to mount in a custom application, but it gives you the ability to clock it and change to a different tranny if you like.
