ok remember this is the newbie section cause this is a stupid question :flipoff2:

i found a 89 s10 blazer 4x4 with a 4.3 at one of the local towing yards, they got it running and were going to use it as a plow but the trans is bad and they only want $200 for it. it got a salvaged title so dont think i could plate it anyways

the s10s have a driver side drop. and i have a th350/np208 out of a fullsize chevy laying in my garage (passanger side drop). this truck would be a trailer queen so is there any kinda reason that i couldnt just swing the transfercase to the driverside and bolt it on that way? id just leave it in 4x4 full time. is there any problems with lubrication or anything?

also what about the vent on top?

That would put the oil pump screen on the top of the case---so I would say no.

thanks for the offer ill keep you in mind, i dont have the junk yet. that case uses the same adaptor as the 208 right?

or what about using the stock transfercase and adaptor on my th350? cause basicly im using a 700r4 adaptor to mount the np208 anyways so shouldnt that just bolt up anyways

that shows how much i know.... i figured transfercases just lubed up like a axle does by the gears splashing around the fluid. never really fully tore one apart

Well I know for a fact the 231's in s10s use a 5 bolt pattern round to bolt. The 208 is 6 bolt round. I am not to sure about the TH350 stuff tho.

just use the adapter and tcase from the s10 and bolt it up.
